Can not get a picture when using the M1 to HDMI connection.

Using the new comcast HD receiver to upgrade to HD. Bought the M1 to HDMI adaptor. Hooked it up and get no picture. I can get the onscreen assistant up but no TV signal. The MP3300 shows the signal to be digital.

Where did you buy the M1 to HDM1 Adapter?

I'd go back to them at this point or try your local Radio Shack for Solutions & Problems! They have an extensive compatibility network that may solve your problem faster!

    Hope This Will FixYa!

All you can try is switching all input channels, if it does not work , you can try the following procedure suggested on projector manuaL:

Disconnect everything,

Connect projector to receiver with devices being off.

Restart receiver first.

Restart projector.

If it is still not detected there may be a problem on HDMI port on projector, in that case , try using a diffeent connection.

Note: never connect/disconnect HDMI cable with devices on, you can blow the HDMI input board on projector.

    Try first the following:

    • Unplug all devices from power.

    • Connect HDMI cable.

    • Connect back to power both receiver and projector.

    • Start receiver first.

    • Once receiver is on start the projector.

    • Browse projector input to find HDMI channel.

If that does not work, then the problem is probably with the receiver.Contact Comcast Technical support, they can guide you step by step in troubleshooting the receiver, as the problem is not from projector.

Alot of people are having trouble with comcast ...ive talked to at least 7 people on here that have the same problems you are having and all i can suggest is that you switch to a different carrier as there is no real solution to the problem comcast wont have any answers either and you will find that out if and when you call them to come out and test everything they wil tell you its in the tv and not their system.as i said there are alot of complaints about comcast and no answers

There will be a setting in the menu of the receiver to allow you to direct which output is active. Sometimes this is locked by comcast. This would mean you have to have a tech come out change the setting.

Take a look around yourself, you might find it in the normal menus.

MAKE SURE COMCAST AS THE SETTING CORRECT IN THE "INSTALLERS" MENU OF YOUR BOX.....

It IS a function the have control over. Talk nice to the installer, comment on his awsome tattoos and ask thay he setup your boxes the way YOU need them.

I have a pioneer sc-07 and a motorola (Comcast cable) hd cable receiver. at times the picture disappears but the audio remains...a short time later the picture returns... why???

If you are using HDMI, you need to switch to Component or connect the HDMI directly to the TV and use your receiver for audio only via optical or digital coaxial. Your receiver uses either version 1.1 or 1.2 HDMI firmware and is not capable of updating itself for new Video Codecs.

I have a Philips DVDR 3575H. using Comcast's

Try this set up-

Use an RCA audio/video cable for this set up (Yellow/Red/White).

Connect from the Video out (Yellow) connection on the back of the cable box to the Video in on the back of the DVR.

Connect the audio (Red/White) cables from audio out connection on the back of the cable box to the "Audio in" on the back of the DVR.

This should still get you a decent picture but not a true HD picture for your recordings.

When you set the timer to record set it to record either E1 or E2 depending on which input you connected the cable box to and ensure that the cable box is tuned to the channel you wish to record.

*** NOTE: If you keep the HDMI cable connected as you have for the cable box and watch normal TV through the HDMI input on the TV you will get HD programming for your general viewing but still have the option to record with the DVR at a lower quality. ***

Good Luck and please rate this solution....

Hookup the comcast hd box to my new lcd tv?

You can use either component (Red/Green/Blue video and red/white audio) or HDMI cables to connect the Comcast HD box to your TV. Most times you can get these cables for free at the Comcast front counter.

How to Hook up HDMI from Comcast Motarola Cable Box

Connect the HDMI outputs on your various components to the HDMI inputs on your receiver. Connect the HDMI output on the receiver to the input on your TV. HDMI incorporates digital audio, so no need to buy optical audio cables. If your receiver does not have HDMI inputs for all your components, you will need to make a choice. HDMI = Best, component video + optical audio = second best, S-video+ optical audio = third best

No sound on NON HD channels

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.

Connecting Projector to High Def Source (e.g. PS3 HDMI)

That projector supports M1-D also which is the digital side of the M1-DA... Anyway, they sell cables that are M1-D to HDMI to which you can hook directly to the PS3. They are decently priced too, less than $20. I know this thread is old, but I came across it due to an issue I am having with my xb31, broken color wheel. Trying to find parts...

If the LCD only has coax, it will never display a HD picture quality. However, the Comcast HD Box will still display a picture using the coax connection. So, you could watch any HD channel, but the picture quality will not be high definition.
