Surround sound right now i can only access the lfd 790's surround sound while watching a dvd.. i want to be able to use the system for surround sound while watching regular cable but have not been able to figure it out.. any solutions?

I believe you have misunderstood something. The audio output from your TV is stereo. Your RCA system produces surround output from your TVs stereo input.

Only a digital audio source will produce surround sound.

What's the audio source you're using for TV sound? It shouldn't be the TV, but what IT's watching, like the cable/sat box.

first u connect surrounded system into tv.it will work for both, don't connect with dvd only

FIRST- double check that the center channel is hooked up in the center channel connection. we have all made this mistake. second if you are watching a movie through a dvd or bluray player be sure that both your audio L/R rca's or hdmi cable's are plugged in. I do not know if your are on cable or satellite? Double check the connections. Be sure that the that if your can select your sound preference turn it to 5.1 surround or matrix. hope this helps

If your tv and surround has an optical input/output.Then you can connect with an optical lead.This will then play the sound from whatever you are watching.You normaly select dig1 or input1 on the surround system.

connect stereo rca jacks behind tv labelled audio out then connect to any available input in home theater receiver

Hi I have an RCA Truflat TV and a philips Surround sound dvd all in one system and a jvc dish system. I have had my surround working up until my nephews messed with it and hooked up a wii system to it. Now I get no sound on my surround sound and I have tried rearranging the cables but I can not get any sound from the surround sound and for the life of me I can not rember how I originaly had it set up. can you help?

goto your menue setings and slect sround sound and set up to external sound system.
