SOURCE: I an looking for the intructions on my Kitchen Aid

Hi. Goto kitchenaid.com. Click on the Customer Care button, click on find manuals, in the search window, enter k45sswh. this page will show the operating manual and farther down the page the parts manual. Download both these files.

Go to mendingshed.com and locate their FREE kitchenaid service manual and download it. This manual will greatly assist you or a repair person should your mixer ever need repair.

A word of caution...Do not overload the mixer with too much bread or cookie dough or it will cause damage to the transmission. Use the recommended capacities found in the manual.

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid Classic Mixer

I have this problem too -it is rather common if you search the web. There was a suggestion posted on this site about what to do. See http://www.fixya.com/support/t125253-mixer_leaking_oil I have also read about other people taking it to a Kitchen Aid repair place where they repacked the grease for about $45. I took mine apart and there is gobs of grease around the gears. Right now I am still trying to figure out what to do. I am going to have my father look at it to see what he thinks since he is good with motors. The Kitchen Aid web site says that the grease is FDA approved, so at least it's not going to kill you if a little gets in your food. Their suggestion is to take it out and run it for about 5 minutes at least once a week. They say it leaks if it is not used often enough. That logic doesn't make much sense to me, but you could try it. Mine seems to leak more when I run it because the grease heats up and liquifies more. I hope that helps. I'll let you know what happens with mine, once it's fixed. Lisa

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer won't release beater

I had this same problem as well.  The beater was stuck like glue to the rotating arm, and it would not budge with any amount of pressure.  I tried the cooking spray and it did nothing.  But today I put a rag in hot/boiling water and then carefully wrapped it around the top of the beater.  I let it sit for 10 minutes. Then I put the rag in hot water again and repeated the process for about another 5 minutes.  When this was done, I covered the beater in a towel (to protect it) and forcefully tapped (ok... I pounded) it with the flat side of my meat tenderizer (it was all I had...you could use a mallet or hammer).  It took a little bit of work because I had to hammer it from the bottom, then the side, then the top to get the little spoke guided through the shaft.  But it did finally come off.  After cleaning with hot water, I put the beater on again and noticed that it was still a little hard to get on/off.  So, I put a little bit of veg. oil on it, and it seems to be better.  Going forward, I will be sure to clean the top of the beater & arm after each use and then coat it with a little oil to keep from sticking.  Best of luck!

Could also be a broken wire to the control plate. It's not very often the plate itself. Just looking in there while operating the lever may reveal something. The shaft at the bottom that moves the plate closes a set of points to start the mixer, maybe the points are loose and not closing when they should. Just be careful operating it with the cover off and alive.

Kitchen Aid flat beater leaves carbon on my hands and food

Are you using the white coated beaters or the burnished beaters. If they are the white coated beaters then the finish has come off and the zinc/underneath is rubbing off. Are you using the aluminum looking beaters in heavy acidic applications? if the mixer is new go to kitchaid customer support they will re-place. if your mixer is out of warranty then you need to replace it. about 15.00 t0 24.00 USD. if the problem persists then you may be leaking metal shavings from the planetary head, (I don't think it is happening but it is a possibility) if it is ground metal shavings you have a serious problem. I can't say anymore without knowing more. What application are you getting this result. is it all the time. is it after the mixer sits along time. need more info.

I stay in msia and recently i bought a PRO450 kitchen aid mixer from us. Msia's voltage is 250V while the mixer is 300 watt. I used adapter and the mixer does work but the engine is making noises. Is...

The voltage in US is 110-120 volts and the amperage is 60 amps. In your country the voltage is 250 volts which appears to be high as the general voltage in Asian countries 220 volts and the current is 50 amps You have to use a transformer/adopter which can reduce the voltage from 250 to 220 Or it is a universal adopter where this aspect is covered up. In that case you have to check the amperage. 300 watt is the power consumed and has nothing to do with low/high voltage.

Which is the better mixer of these old models: K5A K5-A or K45 SS and what is the difference? KITCHENAID HOBART K5A K5-A 300 WATT MIXER and the KitchenAid Hobart Vintage K45 250 WATT. Thank you

Hello ajlina,

All of these are great home use units, all the attachments are interchangeable between these. The difference between these mixers is the K5 is a 5 quart mixer and the K45 is a 4.5 quart mixer. As I own both of them they are great in the kitchen and have the same durability.

Have any more questions please post to this thread and I will be happy to assist. Thank you for using FixYa.

Can the Kitchen aid accessories fit the Wolfgang puck stand mixer

If you happen to have a friendly toolmaker with a small metal lathe it should not be too difficult to modify KITCHEN AID accessories that fit on to the front powwer outlet. However Puck Stand Mixer accessories are occasionaly offered on the Web. Meat grinders are very common and original Puck pasta maker have also been seen. Get searchin'!

Kitchen aid 110v 450watt, I want to convert to 220v

Hi guys,

The only available Kitchen Aid stand mixers on the European markets are the Kitchen Aid Classic and the Kitchen Aid Artisan.

The best way is to contact a Kitchen Aid service center / repair facility in your area.
Here is the European website of Kitchen Aid: http://www.kitchenaid.eu/eu_EU/ka/ka_europe.htm

If you bought a different Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer (like the Professional series) you probably won't find the required parts to convert it to a European model. The only way would be to use a voltage converter.

I hope this helps.
