Hi there, thanks very much for the tip on disconnecting the CMORSE which I did but unfortunately it didnt work, someone mentioned that I should re-install Windows, I would if I could access my computer. I really am at a loss where to go next, so I am open for any suggestions, I found the culprit who thought it was funny changing my code +*#+*! I'm also a little confused with the Model Number, it says underneath Z8100L but this number seems to be uncommon with what other Models that are available, I live in Australia
Resetting the CMOS can be achieved via removing the 'button cell' battery for 10+ minutes OR enabling a jumper (pin connector) on the motherboard, this will clear the PCs setup configuration and require you to reset the parameters.
Re-installing windows will only effect the OS (software) environment, if your question is HOW to bypass a users/administrators password... I shall respectfully decline that information.

Turn off the HP product and turn it around so the back of the unit faces you.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. The power cord
be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely.
Locate and open the rear access door by pressing in on the left side tab and then pulling the door toward you.
Figure 2: Removing the rear access door
pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean
and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly
moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the
rear access door. Click How to Buy
on this page to order replacement parts.
From the rear access door opening, remove the jammed paper.
the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that
is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the
paper supply tray.
Reinstall the rear access door.
Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.
The following information will help prevent paper jams from occurring:
Never use paper that is torn or wrinkled.
If you are having problems using paper that has already been printed on once (recycling), replace it with new paper.
and then reinstall the rear access door. Verify that the access door is
fully locked in place. The paper can skew if the rear access door is
six months to one year, clean the paper feed rollers with a rag lightly
moistened with water. Over time the paper feed rollers accumulate dust
and do not function as well as they once did.
When printing envelopes, tuck the flap into the envelope and crease the folds before printing.
The most likely problem is that the computer annot process the video information fast enough. Although it could also be that the screensaver is cutting in. Unfortunately the Intel Atom is not really powerful enough to play video on a hi def screen, unless there is a discrete graphics card installed. The spec of the computer and it's name give a clue as to the intended use, also the output of the power supply (@ 65W) is not conducive to the unit being used as a video streamer. Sorry.
Insert the user name and password, and it will work. If you are unable to do this because you have forgotten them, you should take it to a computer repair tech and get it unlocked. There is software available to do this but it is not for the use of beginners. ( It can wreck the operating system)
Replacing a disk is pretty simple. Look at the bottom of the case, there will be an area that has screws you can remove to access the disk. Carefully remove it, disconnect any cables and take it to a computer store and get another one. Reinstall
You now have a computer with nothing installed. If the old disk is readable, you might be able to get the information "cloned" onto the new disk before you install it. This will require some skill and a couple of tools. It is best left to a local computer person.
Hope this information will help.
Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you for using Fixya...
When you see those locks it means the wireless connection is a secured connection. You must have the access code to connect to this network. If you see a network without the lock, you can access it without a code. Good luck.
Unfortunately, the 1018 is not supported in the mac environment. Unless you are familiar with changing the source codes from linux to MAC I wouldn't attempt it.
The other option would be to set the printer up on a different machine as default and using a program like NETWORK MAGIC, network the computers together and share the printer, Use the trial version first to see if it works.
Hi there, i dont know if this is of any relevence however, i have just spent the whole afternoon trying to install my new printer, every time i installed my disk a little icon popped up saying usb didnt recognise the device, despite endless frustration i did it another way, If your printer is a usb connection then before inserting the disk connect the printer to the computer and switch on, this then brings up the wizzard which should help you install, if this doesnt work...trust me it took me ages, try different usb ports, i finally found one that picked up the printer, after it detected the device i was then able to continue with instalation via the disk and wohoo many hours later i have a printer, unfortunatley i have now run out of paper doh!!! i hope this helps someone :-)
