Question about Maytag Performa PAV2200

Vibrating with or without clothes as if out of balance

I have checked the springs, the belt, the moter, the pulley all seem fine. Tried leveling the feet. It has been working fine for years. Only moved it to put in laminate flooring.

Wow,, same problem. We moved ours onto a hardwood floor. It's now vibrating out of control...have to brace myself against it to use it. Had it looked at by a repairman...replaced the snubber and still the same prob. It is level but still walks and vibrates way too much. Help!

We have tried leveling several times, running only smaller loads (which defeats the purpose of the large tub), had it checked and was told it is fine and working as it should. It is so loud, we can hear it on the next floor!

We had the same problem. We had an extended warranty on our unit and have had the repair guys out three times. Each time, the person was insistant that the problem was fixed. As soon as you put more than 5 towels in the washer, the machine would vibrate so loud it would walk across the floor. Finally, after at least 10 phone calls to Lowes and the extended warranty people, Lowes is sending us a new machine. I appreciate the Service Manager at Lowes, I did not appreciate the customer service we received through A&E service at all.

If this is a front loader washer then the springs holding the drum in place (inside the washer) are weak and off balance or the bearings are damaged.

Top loading washer vibrates quite a lot during spin cycle

If the machine is level and the feet are properly touching the pads it may be a fault in one of the suspension components or it could simply be the way the load is sitting in the machine during spin cycle. Towels get heavy when soaked and if the load is not balanced inside it will make the machine vibrate. Have you tried the machine without any clothes in it to rule that out?

Maytag washer model PAV2300AWW does not spin the clothes adequately and vibrates Is it the belt or Snubber?

Might just be a belt which is real easy to replace, no tools needed:
Take that belt off there and check the stiffness of the pump.
These will lock up or get stiff without even leaking.
If that pump seems fine check to see if the main drive pulley is properly releasing the tub in the direction of spin. Their are 2 marks on the pulley, the drum should release in between the two points. if not then the thrust bearing kit needs to be replaced.

I have a pictorial of that and a service manual HERE

Need to balance washing machine drum

The drum should not need balancing, but the washer should be level in all directions. If the washer is level, but vibrates excessively during spin cycle, you may need to replace the springs. There is a set of suspension springs which act as shock absorbers. When these wear out the washer will bounce across the floor unless the clothes are 100% balanced in the washer.

Vibrating when spining

An underloaded machine can get out of balance because there's not enough clothes in it to shift around evenly. Don't do small loads. Check to see if a drum spring has broken, you may have to pop the top to see. A putty knife at the top front corners will release the spring catches for the top.

Washer vibrates and seems to be off balance

hey i have the same problem and have been looking for help we bought ours last night and have tried several times to wash clothes. We're level front to back and diagonally. The bolts on the feet are screwed tight to the appliance and still in slow spin mode it sounds like it is off balance and it vibrates and shakes and is kinda scary if you ask me.
