The clutch on my Kenmore model 1249 wont tighten. Is there any way I can fix it myself?

Oh,Oh, time for a professional overhaul. Sounds like a tooth may be broken or worn. (Plastic probably) not like the old machines with metal teeth.

My Kenmore 12493 is making a loud squeaking noise. I have oiled the machine as per the manuals instructions...I can not figure out where the squeaking is coming from.

Hi
If you are good with machines you need to take off the bottom cover and oil all of the drive. The motor may all so need to be oiled.
Good luck

I have a kenmore 148.12210 machine with no manual. I cannot get the bobbin winder to move though the wheel moves when I loosen the clutch. I also cannot get the machine to move!. It looks like it wants to...

Be sure the bobbin switch is engaged when you disengage the clutch. Are the feed dogs raised or did they get lowered by accident? You may have a broken belt or a stretched out one which will have to be replaced. That's why nothing is moving.

On my Kenmore 15250 sewing machine to wind the bobbin I need to release the clutch by turning clutch knob towards me, so says the instructions booklet. But the clutch knob does not move apart from the...

On my Kenmore I had to pull the knob out to release the clutch, then push it bak in. I don't know if that is the same for you. You can try it, if it doesn;t move, it was worth a try. You could just take to Sears, sewing machine department and ask the salesperson what to do, they should help you for free, our Sears is pretty good about such matters.

Can't tighten clutch on Kenmore zig zag sewing machine.

The clutch has fallen off the shaft. Remove the very small screw in the clutch release screw to remove the clutch release. Place the clutch(round thing with ears on it) back on the shaft with the center ears pointing towards the outside. Put the clutch release screw back on. Tighten it to make sure it works
properly. Put the small screw back in the clutch release screw and test it again. If it will not tighten or release properly, remove the clutch ,rotate it180 degrees and try it again. This should solve your problem.
