SOURCE: How to replace the door bellows seal ?

did hte rear clamp come off or just the front spring. assuming its just front spring.carefully reinstall the boot over the front lip assy . easy enough!!here comes the fun!! the spring itself goes to the bottom of the rim.So hang the wire over the top of bellow and feed into the lip evenly as you go down both sides as soon as you get your hands to the 9oclock and 3 oclock positon I then change grip on the spring (use the tips of my fingers palms facing front assy and strech whole pushing down and in. I used to find small spring style clamps would work great for holding the wire in place till it would "pop" into place. a third hand is also very useful to hold in place .

you did fine several companies built kenmore for sears yours looks like a frigidaire on some models there is a problem with water collecting at the bottom of the door where the bellows or boot is and leak to correct this they came out with a new boot that has a channel at the bottom with three holes in it so the trapped water can drain back into the tub the parts kit for that is 5303937187 now on washers with rubber boots its recommend that you shut the door with a little force to make sure it closes tight against the boot sorry about the letters they came with the part number you might want to call kenmore parts to ask about the boot kit if i was there i could tell you but it looks like a frigidaire to me

SOURCE: How to replace the door bellows seal ?

you must remove the large front panel. if you can manage that the rest will become clear to you. dont forget to unscrew the door lock before befor removing the front panel. you will find three screws at the bottom of the front panel under the kick panel, remove them and the front panel will come off.

SOURCE: How to replace the door bellows seal ?

Unfortunately the service manual will not tell you how to replace the bellows.

Tilt the machine back to create more space between the front on the door and the outer drum. Remove the screws for the kickplate and remove the kickplate for easier access. Open the door and remove the spring clamp holding the bellows to the door opening lip. Push the bellows into the drum to get access to the outside/ rear of the bellows (where it connects to the drum). There you will find another clamp which you loosen/ remove with a socket. Some models have an overfill tube on the top of the bellows (remove it from the bellows). At this point you should be able to completely remove the bellows.

Align the new bellows to the outer tub. Attach and tighten the inner clamp (be careful not to over tighten and periodically check the bellows and clamp placement as you're tightening to make sure it doesn't slip off). Attach the overfill tube (if equipped). Lay the machine back to level and install the front of the bellows to the door opening lip. Re-install the spring clamp by starting at the top and working your way down both sides (may be easier with 2 pairs of hands). Be careful not to overstretch the spring on the clamp.

Test with a quick fill and let it agitate for a few minutes to ensure there are no leaks (be ready to hit cancel and have a few towels just in case it leaks). Re-install the kickplate, make sure machine is still leveled correctly by trying to rock it diagonally from the top. Enjoy clean clothes!

Why is door locked and won't open?

Hello. The door lock switch part number is 34001011 in case yours is defective. Usually, just unplug the unit, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in. The main board will unlock the door. On a front load washer, the easiest way to replace a defective door switch is by removing the spring clamp that holds the bellow onto the front of the unit, pulling the bellow aside nearest the lock and swapping it out. HOWEVER, putting that clamp *back on* can be a real headache--I'm able to replace the clamp by hand on the clamps with the smallest springs. The larger ones will require a threaded clamp spreader tool, available at better(larger) appliance parts dealers. If you are hesitant about attempting this, definitely call for service--if the bellow is re-attached incorrectly, it will leak or can be torn because of wrong positioning which can result in it rubbing against the spinning basket. I hope I helped you!

No electric power to left door Fuse and relay are good

Check the wire lume that runs from the body to the door inside a rubber bellow. the wires can break from constant moving and I'm not sure what vehicle you have, but this is a defect for a few vehicles out there the wire can be to short in some cases from cost saving manufacturing. It may be necessary to remove the door panel and remove the harness through the wire opening to be able to move the boot far enough to access the broken wire or even just to check it in some cases.
How I like to repair it, is to put a new wire through the entire pivot point and join it inside the door and body where the wire does not move constantly.

Hope this helps

Trouble DL no start

The machine requires the door to lock prior to starting any cycle. Sometimes, the door lock connector comes loose. Try this:

1. UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST
2. Open the door and remove the retaining spring on the rubber bellow that connects it to the metal front panel.
3. Peel the bellow open on the door lock side (roughly 3 o'clock position)
4. At this point, you can reach in and feel the door lock assembly and the wiring that comes into the bottom of it. Wiggle the connector a bit and push it upward to be sure the contacts are being made.
5. Reassemble everything, plug it in and give it a try. If this doesn't help, you may need to have the door lock replaced.

Good luck.

My machine wach but do not spin a the end.

Note: This solution is intended only for asker qualityisc as per Live Chat session discussion. Error code reads E47 which means the Control board thinks the PTC circuit (wax motor) is open.

Unplug the machine then remove the spring-loaded wire loop that holds in place the front of the bellows over the lip of the door opening in the front panel.
a550e37.jpg

Using needle nose pliers, start where the spring and wire are connected at the bottom of the bellows and pull the wire out of the groove of the bellows then pull the bellows off of the lip of the front panel.
1df5293.jpg

Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.
1a4b866.jpg

Take the door lock and switch assembly out of the machine and disconnect the electrical connections.

febd08e.jpg

Measure the resistance of the wax motor. The normal resistance is around 1500 ohms. Shorted or open circuit wax motor means the door lock and switch assembly needs to be replaced.
27a1c27.jpg

Simply
replace the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) if the wax motor reads shorted or open to address the issue. But if the wax motor resistance is normal, check the continuity of the door lock and switch assembly wire harness, particularly the wax motor wire harness. Start with the continuity of the red/black wire of the wax motor harness to each of the red/black wires of the door lock and switch assembly harness. They should all have continuity; otherwise, replace the harness.

Remove the top panel to access the control board if further continuity test is necessary or if the red/black wire of the wax motor harness has continuity with the all other red/black wires of the door lock and switch assembly harness.

Remove the screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the cabinet then lift the panel off. The console can be removed from the cabinet to completely access the control board connections, particularly the door lock and switch assembly harness connections. Check the continuity of the red/black wires at the door lock and switch assembly to the red/black wire of the harness connected to connector J2 on the control board.
0bdb8ce.jpg

The problem is in the control board if the wax motor is good and the door lock and switch assembly wire harness has all the necessary continuity. The only viable solution, should that be the case, is the replacement of the control board.

Door lock does not lock or unlock. I fthe lock is manually forced into lock losition, the unlock energizes but the latch remains closed. Lock does not latch when functioned.

1. Unplug washer.
2. Remove the outer portion of the door bellow. This is the gray rubber boot around the door. Feel around the edge of the door bellow where it attaches to the front of the washer. You will find a wire retaining hoop in the seam between the rubber and the front case. Follow this wire hoop to the bottom of the door bellow and you will find a tension spring. Carefully, stretch this spring apart and remove the wire hoop.
3. Pull the rubber bellow from the door facing on the front of the washer being careful not to rip or tear it. Once removed, fold the rubber backwards inside the drum so you can access behind the front panel. DO NOT remove the rubber bellow from the wash tub.
4. The door latch assembly is located behind the front panel of the washer on the right hand side. Locate and remove the three screws on the washer front that hold the door latch assembly in place. The whole assembly should come free from the washer front and be held by a plastic mounting bracket and several wire connectors.
5. Carefully remove the latch assembly from the plastic mounting bracket BEFORE attempting to unplug any wires. It makes it much easier to access if you do.
6. Unplug the wire connectors using care not to break any of the wires. You may want to write them down, but I believe they will only plug into their respective slots.
7. Remove the old door latch and install the new one in the reverse order of the steps I just presented to you. Plug the wires back in first, then place the whole assembly back into the plastic mounting bracket, and then reattach to the front of the washer.
8. Now, when you get the reinstalling the rubber door boot, you may want to get the assistance of a second pair of hands as it can be difficult sometimes to manipulate the wire retainer back into place. Carefully reattach the rubber bellow to the door facing on the front of the washer first.
9. Starting at the top of the door bellow at the 12 o'clock position begin inserting the wire hoop back into the groove. Work your way around with both hands to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions. (This is where you could use those second pair of hands). While holding a slight downward tension on the wire hoop to keep it in place, pull the tension spring apart enough to snap the remaining part of the hoop into place at the bottom. Once you've completed these steps make sure the door closes and latches properly. NEVER slam a door with an electronic latch. They can break easily.

Now plug the washer back in and test operate. NOTE: You can run diagnostics on these washers by referring to the tech sheet provided by the manufacturer. The tech sheet is located behind the lower panel under the door, or along the interior cabinet walls. Included, are instructions on how to run diagnostics and troubleshooting tips associated with the list of fault codes. It is recommended that this tech sheet remain inside the washer to prevent it from being lost.

With towels we get leaky front door like load is too heavy? does not happen with other loads whirlpool duet sport front loader washer 2 years old. new problem last two months.

Most likely cause is the door seal or proper name for part is door bellows where the door seal to the machine. Check for tears or rips inside the bellows and any cuts where the door meets the seal. The seal could also be pronated toward the inner tub too much just from wear. The seal would need to be replaced. Also make sure the door is locking. The reason it happens with the towels (heavy load) is b/c they put more pressure on the door making it easier to break the water tight seal. Please rate this post.
