Natural. Very sensitive to just the right amount of water. Stir up the soil with your fingers or and old fork. Give the soil some air to the roots. Water in the morning not at night. Indirect sunlight. Looks healthy and will recover. You can break off this brown dead stuff- it won't hurt it and yet it will make it look better and naturally heal itself in these areas. .

Many reason could cause it. The water is not getting all the way to the leaf, it gets either hot or cold freeze temperatures at some point during the day, too many toxicity on its environment, lack of nutrients on the water. I try some Basic H from Shaklle first, it been use for decades to increase water absorption on agriculture among many other things, and then if that is not enough, some miracle grow, which is a load of minerals for the plants.

IF you don't want to use a commercial insecticide, you can drown them with mildly soapy water that you can spray on the plants. You can also use a cedar based oil spray like they offer on cedarcide dot com.

Why are the branch ends turning brown

Sounds like a plant question. What kind of plant? What City or geographic area are you located in? Is it an indoor plant or outside? Did you just move it into the sunshine? How long since it has been watered?

Could be wind-burn. Some tree's don't like the wind as it dries out moisture in the needles. Move the plant or plant protective shrubs around it.
