3 Red lighs means a hardware failure. If you've opened up the console you have void the warranty so you can't get it replaced. It would have been a quick fix in a certified repair shop with one ring and your warranty would still be valid. Unfortunately, you will have to attempt to fix the console yourself or get a new one. I recommend you get it replaced though.

My x box keeps on freezing

The freezing happens before the red lights.

It happens because the main chips inside the Xbox 360 are losing connection - you need to stop the heat build up between these and you will be able to fix it.

You can either send it in or use a good repair guide to fix it from home.

Red Ring of Death: Red Flashing XBOX 360 Lights Explained Common Xbox 360 Red Ring Errors The XBOX has a reported 54.2% failure rate which makes the XBOX 360 gaming consoles' worst "lemon" to date. If you find yourself with the red flashing lights error, --> lg.php?category_id=15&content_type=article&content_type_id=2663399&key_page=682482001924178892&site_id=1&bannerid=11791&campaignid=3153&zoneid=23&loc=1& follow this guide to try and pinpoint the problem with your XBOX 360.

1 Red Ring = Serious Hardware Failure
I f your XBOX 360 has a 1 red flashing light error, you're more than likely in big trouble. The 1 flashing red ring of light can be due to GPU or CPU failure, RAM overheating, a DVD drive error, or some serious problem with your Xbox 360's internal components. The most common 1 flashing red ring lights error is the E74 error. The E74 error is no easy fix for the Xbox 360 and usually has to be repaired by the manufacturer [though some have managed to repair it with the heat gun trick - but be careful]

2 Red Rings = Overheating
Mostly all red flashing lights on the Xbox 360 rings are due to overheating in some way or other, but the 2 red rings singles out overheating as the main issue. When doing the X-Clamp fix the 2 red rings are required to fix the Xbox 360 by overheating the CPU. If you get this Xbox 360 error without doing the X-Clamp fix, you probably just need to let your Xbox 360 cool down for a few hours. Make sure that all vents aren't blocked off and that your Xbox fans are working properly in order to repair this problem.

3 Red Rings = Basic Hardware Failure
The most common error on the Xbox 360 is the 3 red rings - also known as the Red Rings of Death (RRoD). This flashing lights problem is the main cause of Xbox 360's 54.2% failure rate. The 3 red flashing lights can be due to lots of different errors but is mainly due to the X-Clamps in your Xbox 360 and overheating. Fortunately, lots of people were able to fix this issue using the X-Clamp and heat gun fix. Follow this list of error codes to find out the real issue with the 3 red rings because there are quite a few of them.

X box game wont come on. red light flashing

if all four lights are red your av cable or hdmi is loose. if its 3 red lights this is the red ring of death (RROD) and it needs repair. microsoft has a 3year warrenty for this problem. what happens is the console gets hot and the "x" clamps holding the heat syncs to the chips bends the motherboard and causes the CPU or GPU to come loose enough to where they aren't making proper contact with the board. I've fixed several of these including 2 of my own. what you do is take it apart, remove the clamps and the heat syncs. clean the chips. apply new thernal paste and replace the problem causing clamps with screws and washers. plug in the xbox with out the fan hooked up for about 3-5 minutes until you see 2 red lights flashing which indicated the console is ovrheating, let it overheat for 2 minutes unplug it and tighten the screws. the overheating of the console softens the solder on the chips and allows you to tighten the back into place.

This is the video I watched to learn the process. Its part 1 of 9 i think">

My xbox 360 have sound but no vedio, so i did what the vedios say do by changing the x clamp and put new compound on both side then after ploging it in i had no red lights like they say i would my360 start...

Overheating which is the 2 red lights mean there is a problem with the cpu, this is the one under the big heatsink.
Things to try:-
If you have not already done so the cpu needs the heatsink compound replacing.
check the spacing between the motherboard and the heatsink on the cpu, are all the washers in place.
When you screw the chassis to the casing tighten all the screws up then loosen them all off by one full turn.
I hope this helps.

My Xbox 360 just started turning itself off after about 4-8 mins.2 red lights come on ,on the left side while laying flat.

You are having an overheating problem. 2 red lights indicates that the console is overheated, and to preserve itself it will shut down. You may want to try and replace the thermal compound between the cpu/gpu, cleaning them off first, To do this you need to open the xbox and remove the x-clamps.

XBOX360 No Audio, No VIdeo, Solid Green Light

the G.P.U has more than likely detached from the main board.
the x clamp mod is more of a diagnostic procedures than an
actual repair function. The G.P.U will need to be re-flowed to
the main board then lightly but firmly clamp to the board
then stress tested (force it to run hot for 15 min shut off and
repeat 3 times)

that's it

Scratched Xbox 360 motherboard

Usually if a motherboard has been scored or damaged.
( tracks or resistors/capacitors dislodged et,c )
The board is in the Bin. ( scrap ) unless the damage can be repaired. The RROD Or red-ring of death. Is usually due to the x-clamps fitted to the console initially, by the manufacturer.
Replacing the x-clamps, with a kit ( bolts/washers thermal Compound ) And 4 x heatpads recommended. Can cure the RROD. And in my own experience the 1 red light And E74 error.

Bottom line, if the boards scratched. it,s in the Bin.

Most of the time when you have 2 red flashing lights one of the clamps has come loose holding down the cooler on the GPU or CPU.

Reds light's

you can't just remove the 2 x clamps, you need something to hold the heatsink down. Get yourself some m5 screws and washers and screw it down to hold the headsink, cpu and the board together.
