According to the tech sheet for this model, the F1 is an indication of a keypad error, an internal communication error, or a temperature sensor error.

Because the first two indicate a control board failure, and the third a sensor failure, I would test the sensor and see if it was working correctly. This way, you could eliminate the one component that is easy to test as being the failure.

The wiring to the sensor and control board are easy to get to once the rear panels are removed. The probe can be checked while it is in the range, but by removing it, you can check it over a wider range to verify it's operation.

The temperature sensors used in most ovens and ranges are a thermistor type referred to as a PTC or Positive Temperature Coefficient. This simply means, as the temperature applied to the sensor increases, its resistance will also increase. This is the opposite of most thermistors we use in other appliances, but the concept is the same.

For this sensor, have a technician connect his meter and check the resistance at room temperature.

The resistance measured should be about 1077 ohms based on the values given in the tech sheet.

If the sensor tests good that leaves the control board as the cause of these fault codes.

How to test many brands of Ranges that are flashing a F1 fault code: You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.

  • Disconnect power to stove
  • Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  • Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  • Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  • Turn power back on to stove.
  • Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  • If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  • If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.

    F1 error code and beeps

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You need to proved me with the oven model number. This number is located on a metal plate, on the top front after you open the door.

The general code F1 indicates a communication problem within your control system.

The code F1 is different depending on the manufacture and model number.

My frigidaire stove I have to umplugg it because keeps beeping f10 can' stop I push any bottom and keeps beeping

Hi Elizabeth! From what you have posted, your appliance is experiencing a high-temperature error code (F10). A high-temperature error indicates that your oven has reached too high of a temperature for too long of a time period. If unplugging your appliance does not prove to be successful, you would require a visit from a professional to check the temperature sensor and the electronic oven control (brains of your appliance behind the touch pad). If you have any other questions please comment so I can help!

Hi, My oven has been beeping a F10 error code for some time now, and I would like to know how I can fix this problem?

    This is from Frigidaire website
These codes mean that the oven's electronic control has detected a condition it needs to check. When you see a code, follow these steps:
    • Press STOP/CLEAR to clear the display and stop the beeping.
    • Reprogram the oven.
    • If the code still displays, turn off the power to the oven at your breaker box and wait five minutes to turn it back on.
If the code is still displayed after you've followed these steps, contact your local authorized service provider.

That is the best answer I can give. I hope it helps. I don't know what the code is, but it only gives this answer.

I had the oven on 350 for 45 min. baking potatoes and then the oven beeped twice and F1 showed up on the screen where it had said 350 so I turned the oven off and the time then showed on the screen. ...

The manual says error code "F1" means a problem occurred in the circuitry and suggests pressing "CLEAR" to reset it. If the problem persists, contact a repair guy.
    See page 19:
"This oven is equipped with a state of the art electronic oven control. Among its many features is a full time oven circuit diagnostics system. The control constantly monitors its internal circuitry as well as several crucial oven circuits to insure they are all operating correctly. If at any time one of these systems fails, the control will immediately stop operation, and beep continuously (flashing an error code of F1, F3 or F9 in the display window, if equipped). Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press CLEAR to clear the display and stop the beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number, press CLEAR and contact an authorized servicer."
