same thing - computer related- another computer on the same network works fine so its not a router or provider issue. The only thing I changed is a hard drive- how could that do it? I wonder if it has something to do with IRQ's or something or is that old school?

We use citrix GoToMeeting to host webinars, online conferences. In the last couple weeks, would-be attendees at two large clients report being unable to connect.

Change the date on the windows machine to today's date - bottom right hand corner right click on time or date/adjust time/date to today and that may do it.

How to cofigure my Dlink 502T modem for BSNL connection at chennai

If you want to connect and disconnect at your ease, the following steps will guide you through setting up a internet connection in windows using username and password whenever you connect.
Have a good time...
Step 1: Initial LAN Configuration First connect all the equipments to your PC. Details about this is probably given on the manual
Now on windows go to control panel -> Network Connections
Select “Local Area Connection” and right click it . . . Select Properties
Select TCP/IP in that box ->properties
Enter the details as follows
Set IP Address As 192.168.1.29 Subnet Mask As 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway As 192.168.1.1 Preferred DNS 208.67.222.222 Alternate DNS 208.67.222.220
Save settings and restart the computer.

Step 2: Settings for Modem Make sure the Power LED, Link LED and USB/LAN LED are on/blinking Open your browser (preferably Internet Explorer ) and goto http://192.168.1.1/ Input as follows USERNAME : admin PASSOWRD : admin
Now goto Setup Tab then click on new connection (left side navigation frame/panel)
Now fill the details as follows Name : BSNL
Type : bridge
Sharing : disable
VLAN ID : 0
Priority Bits : 0 Encapsulation : LLC Select LAN : LAN GROUP 1 PVC : new VPI : 0 VCI : 35 Leave all others at default values Then click apply The go to TOOLS tab Click “system command” (left hand side) Click “save all”
Apply and restart the modem.

Step 3: Setting up Internet Connection Dailer in windows Now goto Control Panel->Network Connections Create New connection (and a wizard will pop up)
Click Next
Connect to Internet(Select the radio button and click next)
Setup My connection Manually(select it and click next)
Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password (select it and click next)
ISP name (type something, anything and click next)
Type in the User name and password given to you from BSNL in the specified columns (and click next)
If you want to add a shortcut of connection to desktop, check that square box and click finish.
Double Click the Icon in the desktop to connect to the BSNL Dataone broadband connection, and either double click the same icon or right click the system tray icon to disconnect from BSNL Dataone broadband connection.
Hope this will help you.

Huh. I usually wouldn't do this but I suggest using a different remote assistance program. Here's a great one that I suggest for you. It's called TeamViewer, you can do everything you could do on GoToMeeting. I hope it helps and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Download: TeamViewer.com

Hi I am using goto meeting and outlook

I haven't used GotoMeeting with Firefox or Thunderbird but there are known issues if you are using an older java plugin. If you are using JRE 1.5, try upgrading that to JRE 1.6 and see if that helps.

All of Sun's downloads are here:

Internet explorer partially connects and then won't open or close.

Internet explorer (newer versions) have reset options.

Goto Tools, Advanced, Reset. then shut down the computer and re-start

If that fails you might want to check other things !

When was the last time the computer was properly scanned for BOTH virus AND other malware ?!?!?

There are so many nasty things out there that not even the best antivirus can catch that can still do damage to your computer. I would not reccomend norton or macafee as a first line antivirus but ESET or AVG and even those I would support with the use of a decent antispyware/antimalware package such as malwarebytes or superantispyware

INternet help

Might be obvious things but thought I'd list them ...
  1. Make sure your Internet Connection box (Cable Modem or other) has blinking lights for activity.
  2. Make sure your internet cords are plugged in well.
  3. If in Windows, goto Start | Settings | Control Panel | Network Connections
  4. Right-click on your Network Card, most likely (Local Connection 1) and choose Repair
  5. Try again.
Hope this helps, if it does, please select FixYa!

ThankYa!
