SOURCE: Handheld Shower leaks where it connects to shower arm

pull rubber boot away and you should see a nut or connecting ring. you can use thread tape on the leaking threads for the nut or use a rubber gasket washer depending on the setup inside. if all else fails you can put duct tape along the leaking area make sure water is off and area is dry.

How to remove cartridge from oakbrook shower faucet with 3 handles

You take off the handles, then the packing nut and you should see the valve stem and it unscrews all the way out. You can then look at the seal on the steam and the seat is in the valve. To change the seat, you need a special tool that fits in the fixture to twist the seat out.

Why shower won't shut off completely

Chances are, the rubber seal is worn on the control knob. Make sure both hot and cold knobs are turned off. Take the handle off the shower control. Take off the chrome ring. You will see a nut around the shaft. You will need a special socket to take loosen the nut. If the hole is large enough you might get a pair of plyers on the nut. This will let you pull the control shaft out and replace the washer. Make sure you use a flashlight and see if the seat is damaged before replacing. Make sure you tighten the rubber very tight, as it will tend to loosen.

Two faucet shower control hot water faucet leaks- I took of the cap, handle, and unscrewed the long screw and there was a long white place stem. Is this where the seal goes.

You will need to remove the cartridge that the screw was attached to and underneath there is a rubber cup washer with a small cone shaped spring. You need to replace the rubber washer which is called a seat and the spring ,then put cartridge and handle back on and you should be good to go. Thank you.

Water is leaking from the front somewhere. hoses and fittings were dry...so it's coming from the front.

the first thing to check is the door boot seal make sure there is no tears in the rubber seal.
then you may need to check the drain pump and hoses.

I need to remove the Maax shower base and can not figure out how to remove the wedge retainer. do i need to actually cut the shower base to get the pipe detached to remove the shower base?

Hello, You shouldn't have to resort to that extreme. The drain unit that the retainer sits in is the part securing the base down, have a look at the diagram in this link: http://www.maax.com/Upload/docs/premium/technical/en/000_10014442_0904-2_E.pdf

The drain assembly should unthread and release the base. But sometimes they tend to work as designed.

The retainer is a compression fit (or should be... do you know the installer? they may have deviated from the described installation). Assuming a proper install, use a flat-head screwdriver and a utility knife to seperate the inside portion of the rubber seal of the retainer, from the plastic ring. The ring should now be able to be pried out, and the drain portion unthreaded.

If this helped, please rate a four-thumbs up. Thank You.

My mark 812 water softener just lets the water run out into the drain cant stop it unless I shut the water off

sometimes the heads go bad on those and they get stuck in a regeneration cycle that just flushes the tank out. put it on bypass or call your softner maker and alot of times they will help you diagnose it and send you replacement parts. also some of the softner heads use small electric motors that get siezed as well

My master bathtub is leaking

Yes the weight of someone in the tub plus the water can push the tub down far enough to cause the leak.
Unscrew the flange in the tub that holds the drain to the tub. Get some plumbers putty and make a bead to fit between the tub and flange.
Make sure the rubber gasket is clean ..use a bit of plumber's putty on this as well. Get an assistant to stand in the tub while you snug things up.
Snug it up tight.... replace if the threads are stripped as you said.
Plus if your house is less than a year old, I'd talk to the contractor/builder if possible about warranty work...most reputable builders will cover their work for the first year.

Leaking left rear wheel seal.

Loosen differential cover and let oil drain. Remove cover, remove E clip lock from axel. Pull axel out. Remove bearing seal. Install new seal and reinstall axel. Reinstall E clip lock and new cover gasket. Fill with 75-90wt gear oil. Now I know that sound pretty straight forward. But there are some things to remember. The E clip lock can be difficult to remove sometimes. The most important thing is the seal, you will need to make sure it gets seated correctly and not torn when installing axel
