SOURCE: dometic rv refrigerator

I found that they rewired the 12 volt supply, red wire, thru a heat safety switch on the burner unit and it was open instead of being closed and cut off the main 12 volt supply to the control board. I connected a jumper wire around the new switch and the frig works . either the new switch is bad or too close to the heating unit.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Coleman

Hello Barry,

More than likely, your heating element has become shorted to its case, thereby allowing current to flow outside of the neutral, tripping the GFI. If you have a multimeter, you can measure the resistance of the heater itself (AC heater should be 125 ohms, +/-10%). There should not be any continuity between each of the heater wires to the case of the heater itself.

I shut down the fridge. Not getting any power to it now. I have checked breakers and fuses. There is power to 110 outlet where it plugs in. No power to gas valve. What do you think the problem is?

Your Norcold refrigerator is powered by 12V DC, not 110V AC. You need to check input power at the power board. If the fuses are good and you have good 12V to the refrigerator, check to see if you are getting 12V past the 5amp fuse on the board. If not, you may have a bad board. Thermal fuse location

It's not a thermal fuse..You're getting power so issue is either the board or the fuse inside the board..that's what you should be looking at..All switches are mainly for safety

Domestic Dm2652 will not work on AC without DC power is this correct. We have been camping for a week plugged into 30amp power. Refrigerator worked fine then check light came on and refrigerator...

This is an RV frig correct? It SHOULD work either/or. AC or DC. If your plugged into AC then often the frig will work with that alone. DC is for when you have no AC so you can power your appliances of the battery. Maybe you have a converter (AC to DC which most RV's do) that somehow is not getting the DC to the frig.

Portable AC is completely dead

Technicians trick. Power goes into board but not out.. Bad board. Replace it. The only repair on a PC board should be done but someone who does it everyday. I've made that mistake before.

May be your computer board, not turning on the defrost heaters in the freezer section. The freezer will eventually get warm too. Are you getting frost build-up on the rear wall of the freezer? If you are, you can temporarily solve the problem by turning off the whole refrige for a day and open up the freezer door- put towels on the floor under the freezer doors. Then turn it back on - mine worked fine again. I am currently waiting for a computer board replacement. It is behind the metal plate on the back (outside) of the cabinet. Good luck.

My fredge rm 2652 not working

You need to check your fuses on the fuse panel inside your coach. The frig will not operate on gas or electric without 12 volt power to the frig circuit board.
