SOURCE: headset not going into pairing mode.

Hold down round button on earbud for 5-6 seconds until the lights blink alternating red and blue.....then, enable your phone/device to connect in pairing mode. This will be a "find device" command or something similar. Once they recognize each other....it will send you a screen to enter a code. This will be 0000.....enter that...and once they pair...you are good to go.

SOURCE: Trying to pair my HTC EVO to plantronics explorer

Had the same problem and called Plantronics. They reminded me about putting the earpiece in "Discovery Mode" by holding down the button when turning it on until it flashes blue/red. Then have the EVO scan for bluetooth devices. It found mine right away.

My bluetooth is paired i can not hear out of it

t sounds like the phone and headset may not be paired up correctly.
First, remember that newer phones are like small computers, so they
may become corrupt over time and you may need to reset them every so
often. Simply turn your phone off and remove the battery for a few
seconds, then replace the battery and turn it back on. Purge from the
phone any pairing information for your Explorer 240 headset and pair
it again to your phone, following carefully the instructions on the
attached link for the Plantronics Explorer 240. Also, make sure there
isn't any other bluetooth interference.

I cannot find a comfortable way to put it in the ear and make everything work (plantronics 245)

Plantronics Explorer 240 comfort:

Comfort is a very individual and personal thing, we come in all shapes and sizes and everyone's idea of comfort is different. You may want to look at a different headset or a different headset design. The Plantronics Voyager Pro+ headset has a different design than the Explorer 240 and is one of our most popular Bluetooth models.

How do I turn it on. Is the red showing or not showing

To turn the Explorer 240 Bluetooth headset on, press and hold the call control button until the indicator glows blue. You will hear ascending tones. The headset will then show intermittent flashes of blue. You should only see a red light when powering the headset off or if you are charging the headset you will see a solid red light.
