I had my vehicle serviced and now the remote start stopped working. I can't seem to find that kill switch. Can tell me how to trace where it comes from and where it goes. It is a Model PRO-9275T

I had my vehicle serviced and now the remote start stopped working. I can't seem to find that kill switch in case they messed with it. Can you tell me how to trace where it comes from and where it goes. It is a Model PRO-9275T The lights come on the seat adjusts ans sounds like it want to work but doesn't start the engine.

    This is a 2005 Lincoln Aviator. The only thing that was done was a oil and filter change.

If the remote starter is responding when your press the buttons to start it then, your search for a "kill switch" is futile. There is possibly an issue with the immobilizer bypass.
What is the year, make and model of the vehicle? What kind of service was performed?

hi i had the same problem,
the problem is that there is a thick wire in your boot and when the airbag deplode themselves at impact the fuse conected to the wire blows and cuts the engine out for safety purposes,

the part of the wire is expensive(200-300£)

a cheaper way is to get a good aut electrician to rewire it then it will start

The LED blinking twice and, the trunk and hood being displayed on the remote indicates trunk/hood trigger. Now, when you attempt to remote start the vehicle and nothing happens, it's definitely the hood pin switch. By the way, the remote should be displaying "inhibit" as well at this point. Check for the hood pin switch under the hood; it's probably bent downward, not allowing the pin to make contact with the hood when it's closed. If it's a bracket, bend it upwards. If it's a pin, unscrew it upwards a couple of turns so it makes contact with the hood when it's closed.

1. Locate the valet switch for your system. It's a small black push button, connected to a pair of wires that are gray and black. There's no telling where the installer placed it, or if he even left it connected. But if it's there and you find it:

2. Put your key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" or "run" position (not to "start").

3. While the key is on, press the valet switch once and release it, then press it again and hold it.

4. Press the "lock" button on the key fob.

5. Release the valet switch and turn the key off.

6. Test the key fob to see if it worked.

When i try to start me 2008 sonata the alarm goes off and the engine will not turn over. what can i do?

Your Sonata is equipped with a "Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm" system. When the Burglar Alarm is activated, it KILLS the starting system through the used of a relay called the "Burglar Alarm Relay". This mode prevents engine starting with the key.
Solution #1
Disarm the system with the Keyless Remote (key fob) If you don't have this remote (or its battery is dead) replace the battery & try disarming again.
Solution #2
Enter the vehicle & insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to 'RUN'. Wait 3 to 5 minutes until the alarm stops. You should then be able to start the engine.

Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.

I have a 2003 hyundai sonata and i dont have the remote for the stock alarm. My alarm keeps going off and my car wont start. I bought a new battery and even tried the key in the door still no luck.....

The 2003 Sonata is equipped with a 'starter KILL' burglar alarm system with disables the starting system (using a N/C 'contacts' configuration instead of a N/O contacts configuration). N/C=Normally closed, and N/O=Normally open contacts. When the alarm goes off with a MY Sonata, the only way to DISARM it is with the key fob (remote) originally programmed for it (unless you purchase a new remote & have it programmed for the vehicle at an authorized Hyundai Service Department). NOTE: So long as the keyless entry & burglar alarm system is functioning/operating normally, the alarm will keep going off and the STARTER KILL function will still prevent you from starting the vehicle. One option is left without purchasing a new remote and having it programmed.
1. When the alarm goes off, get into the vehicle and insert the ignition key into the ignition.
2. Turn the key to the 'RUN' position (NOT the ACC position) and wait for the alarm to STOP (usually about 3 to 5 minutes).
3. The engine should then start using the ignition key.

If this procedure doesn't work, the problem will need further diagnosis by a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician.

I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire an the radio seems to stay on even when the car us turned completely off. What does that mean because it keeps killing my battery.?!

The most likely answer is that your vehicle's door pin switches aren't working. When you open the driver's door, does your dome light turn on? Your radio works with the vehicle's data bus to stay on until the door is opened; if the system can't tell that the door has been opened, then it won't turn off. The door pin switch should be mounted at the front of the door opening.

I have a prestige remote Audio box starter remote alarm on a 2002 Toyota Camry.I unplugged the sensor and the car still doesn't start.can you help me i am out of the state need to get home.

Locate the valet switch( black push button), turn ignition on, press and release valet switch. the valet switch is plugged onto the main control unit. You can find the main control unit by tracing the harness that you unplugged from the shock sensor. The valet switch is plugged into a two pin plug and has a blue end. Trace the wire to the valet switch.

Came home 6 minute drive and truck just shut itself off. Tried to restart and wouldn't start. Tried to start it using the remote starter and it started. Put the key in the ignition turned it on while...

If you remember when you use the remote start the motor will run but you must put the key in the ignition before you can operate the vehicle. It is the security or kill switch that is preventing you from operating. Check your spare key that is used less frequently and see if that cures it. It may be the keys chip. If that does not cure it call your dealer.

Prestige car starter just quit working one problems up till then...??? car still starts with normal operation

Locate the control unit (normally under dash) check the fuses in the system. If those are good trace each wire back to thier connections. You should have one or more ignition wires,one or more accesory wires,starter wire,brake kill wire,neutral interlock wire, underhood pin switch ( pin that kills the engine if the hood is opened while the remote unit is running) these may become stuck. If all of the connections are good then you may need to contact the manufacture for further assistance.
