Question about Sewing Machines
The machine is designed for 120 V and I tried to run it with 240 V without a transformer. The motor is fried, can it be replaced?
Yes probably...call Singer and see what they have to offer. Might want to see if you can get the 240 motor and proper wiring for that application too.

SOURCE: My Designer 1 screen is blank.
Phone the technician who worked on your machine previously and tell him/her what has happened. It would appear that the repair was not done properly. Make sure they understand the inconvenience they have put you to and ask can they effect the repairs as quickly as possible.

Firstly we must all remember that the CE200 is a very particular machine and requires that you follow certain procedures in order for it to run smoothly. When using the small hoop, firstly you must make sure that the small hoop is selected on the screen by going to Tools, Select Hoop & clicking on small frame. Once this has been done and the design selected, you must then attach the small hoop before sending the design to the machine. If you attach the hoop after sending the design, the machine will give you the error message.

pull the 4 bottom rubber feet out and remove screws hidden in holes. Lift main body of serger up. you will see the gears. Probably drive gear on motor shaft got hot and slid on motor shaft.

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.
Let me know.
