There will be a regulator valve on the unit and you can adjust it to do the job in hand ie light ruat/paint --just enough pressure to to the job --- heavy rust --more pressure material--- plastic light pressure--- aluminium more pressure --- steel will handle even more pressure.

?? LOCATE A MANUAL/PARTS DIAGRAM FOR CLARKE AIR COOMPRESSOR

You didn't state your model number but the only place I could find that has manuals for Clark air compressors is Clark Power Porducts UK at: www.clarkeservice.co.uk/product_manuals/air_compressors.shtml. Usually if you have an air leak at the pressure switch when the tank is full and after the motor shuts off it is indicative of a stuck or broken tank check valve. Sometimes they can be cleaned and will work for a while but more often than not they have to be replaced.

Clarke FM1700 buffer-sander, problems with using it

what is the condition of the felt pad on the driver?? The sander should not be that hard, usually you need to lift up or slightly bear down to get the machine to move left or right. Are there any exposed nails in the area you are sanding and check the grit for the sanding conditions

I own i 20 gal. clarke abrasive blaster. My problem is that i can only blast for about 30 seconds and then have to wait almost 2 minutes for the pressure to build back up

Sounds like your compressor doesn't have the cfm to keep up with the blaster. Blasters use a lot of air. The cfm of your compressor should match or exceed the cfm of the baster. Try a bigger compressor.
Good Luck!

Sand Blaster: air shot out of water trap.

1. do you have an adequate air compressor, meaning can deliver sufficient air supply to the sand blaster. 2. if you have an air leak at the water trap at the bottom of the trap it self. you need a new one. 3. it is a must to have a water trap when using a sand blaster.
So what I would do is replace the water trap and install the new water trap at the compressor between the compressor and the air hose coupling. the reason for this is your less likely to have it fail at the compressor VS at the sand blaster. once you have done that. you need to make sure that you have no more than 3/4 of media / sand in the sand blaster itself.
then open air supply valve #1 where the water trap is or was a 1/4 -1/2 way. then open the mid way valve#2 1/4 - 3/4 way. and the bottom valve#3 open 1/4 - 3/4 way. getting the air supply valves all set correctly is hard to do some times.

Air valve #1 supplys the air to the blaster.( more air the better)
Air valve #2 supplys the air going into the top of the blaster tank. ( wich pressurizes the top of the tank to push the sand or media downward )
Air valve #3 supplys the air mixture to sand at the bottom of the tank.

Need to find where to get info on how to sandblast

make sure first of all you have a big enough compresor to run ur sand blaster always put clean sand in it,try using a screen if u have to reuse sand if big enough chunks get in the sand it will clog up.hold away from object to be sanded about 3 inches away from area to be sanded.always keep blaster moving if u keep it in 1 spot to long u can warp the metal.other then that i dont know specifically what u need to know.
