I would not advise you to refill a toner cartridge becausethe toner powder is very fine and you do not want to breath in this tonerpowder.
When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint.
You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer.
This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter.
A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.
if the cartrige is not from samsung then there are some informations missing on the cratrige chip, you can try to purchase this chip from the shop you bought the cartrige and tell them about your problem!
Turn off the TONER SAVE mode if on.
With power cord detached, clean the HVPS contacts (between print cartidge & Printer's cartridge slot).
If still required increase the print resolution setting thru printer properties thru your PC.
If print bnot to the mark replace HVPS supply PCB.
DELL has two types of toner cartridges for your printer:
- a 3000 Page Standard Yield Toner Cartridge (Manufacturer Part# : RP441 | Dell Part# : 310-8701)
- a 6,000 Page High Yield Toner
(Manufacturer Part# : GR332 | Dell Part# : 310-8700)
The Toner yield is based on printing pages with 5% page coverage in accordance with ISO/IEC 19752 testing methodology. Yields vary with usage and environmental conditions. In practice, depending on what type of documents you print, one cartridge can print much less than the quantity of prints advertised.
You might perhaps bought before a high capacity (more expensive cartrige)? Also, if you are using compatible (not original Dell cartridges) or reffils of the original cartriges , the yeld of the cartrige may vary.
I was in the same boat but I found a workaround:
I looked through the pictures of the Samsung printers on their website and found one that looked like the SCX-4216F, which was the SCX-4X21, then I downloaded and chose the driver name "SCX-4X21" when I was installing the printer and booyah, it worked!
