Question about D-Link Computers & Internet
I've attempted the 'reset' button on back & 'refresh networks' button on the side but nothing works. I can't access any settings on my DIR-615 router because it's all password protected. D-Link help line is 877-453-5465 but I'm not willing to hit my credit card .... may as well buy a new one if I'm gonna go that route (no pun intended) Anybody have any suggestions to get around this problem.?.
Your only option is the reset. Hold it in till it cycles through. I simple push just reboots, but will not clear custom settings.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Turn the router off.
Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip,
and insert it into the small hole in the back of the router,
to "reset" the router to the "factory" settings.
Turn the router on, connect to its built-in web-interface,
and the "default" ID/password should now work.
Change the password.
Rerun the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard",
to recreate your wireless network.

Run the windows wizard to setup a network connection from the control panel. Be sure you have the security type and code if you have security enabled on the wireless router.

You need to connect the modem to your computer via the cat-5 cable.
To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear of the unit. With the router power on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process. Wait for 30 seconds to access the router. The default address is 192.168.0.1 when logging in, the username is "admin" and leave the password box empty.
If you need the manual, you can download it at:

It appears your brother has changed your wireless router settings.
You can reset the Dlink back to the default settings by -
Power off the Dlink and press and hold the RESET button on the back of the Dlink and the power on the Dlink. Hold the RESET button for 5 secs. until the LEDs flash at the same time.
Connect a LAN cable from the computer to the Dlink. Open a browser and enter the Dlink's configuration URL
Default login = admin
PW = blank (just press Enter)
You can now change the admin password and set up a new passphrase (ie encryption)
