Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hi I have an LG 37LC55 which works fine with scart no problem but when I am using hdmi after about 5-10mins the screen scrambles and goes green, purple, yellow but sound still works when I switch it off and back on again it happens quicker but if left to cool down happens after 5-10 mins again . Its just strange that it doesn't happen on scart any advice would be appreciated on what it could be and if it's possible to repair at a low cost

We had the same problem. What we did was unplug our DVR box from Comcast to reset it and plugged it back in and the picture came back.

Replacement power supply is used?
You need to verify the DC output voltages of the power supply first and make sure this power supply has no bad caps with leaking/bulging tops. It goes into standby can also be that it detects fault some where in the set.
Please see my basic troubleshooting guide here:

Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

Parts: www.shopjimmy.com
Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps.
Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
Please post back what you find.

Hi, I have a 32LG3000 HD tv with software version 3.47.1. I just bought a Humax FoxT2 HD free view box but when connected via hdmi to the LG tv a message briefly comes up on the tv saying invalid format...

I , would try using another ( alternative connection) from your humax , say the scart cable just to see if it , the humax is ok. then if tv has more than 1 hdmi skt try it too, if still not working retry upgrade firmware route

LG 42PC56 ps3 best settings?

Your PS3 should detect when you set up a HDMI connection then just follow the onscreen instructions. If it does'nt unplug the HDMI cable and use the scart cable. Then unplug the scart cable and plug in the HDMI cable your PS3 should detect this HDMI cable and it will notify you on screen.
Hope this helps

Try to use a HDMI cable, your component cables may not be usable with your TV.

Hdmi

The HDMI lead only carries the video and audio from the HTS6510/05 to the TV.

The scart carries audio and video both ways.

Re-connect the scart lead and all will be ok.

N.B. When the HTS6510 is switched on, the TV will auto-switch to the scart input. You will then need to switch the TV to HDMI to get the benefit from the DVD upscaling.
