Function F4 if you just use the button to turn all the lights off then click it to turn them all on then hit the function F4 your lights will come back on . Your indication is that the lights do come on during reboot which means they do work just need to be turned on all the way.

SOURCE: I have Asus G73SW and

I recommend reinstalling Windows using the original recovery media from Asus. That should have all of the original drivers and software needed. You can alway upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate after that.

Hi I have an asus s550c, how do I turn on the keyboard lights!? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Try this
Fn + F4 = makes the keyboard brighter
Fn + F3 = makes the keyboard dimmer

If it doesnt work goto https://www.asus.com/support/Product-Search/?keyword=s550c
Try to navigate to your SPECIFIC (exact model and serial number) machine and download the HOTKEY related files. and the correct user Manual to find out the right hotkeys for keyboard light.function.

My keyboard won't light up on an ASIA G73J. I have tried the function keys and they won't work.

Did you hold down the [fn] key, in combination with the function keys? If not, you have to hold down the [fn] key in combination with pressing the function key's that are associated with the keyboard back-lighting (usually [F3] or [F4] on an ASUS G-series).

How do I turn on the keyboard lights on my asus G73J laptop. Sounds simple but I have tried everything and have lost my operating manual. I can only find a basic manual online that does not address this.

You will see a button labeled Fn on your keyboard , while holding this button down, press F4 and it should toggle the light on your keyboard.
hope this is helpful

My asus g73jh backlight will not turn on, it only turns on during reboot. How can i get it to turn on

If you're having trouble with the keyboard lights, hold the Fn key (right next to the left ctrl key) and press F4 to get the keyboard turned on. There is also the button at the top left corner that turns lights off.
