Just bought Xerox 6180 MFP that has a port setting of 25 that can not be changed. I can't believe it won't allow you to change the port to 80 which is GO Daddy. Xerox tech support is clueless and only offer the solution to find a server who has port 25. I cant find one and xerox can't even suggest one, so what use is the machine. I thought I was buying the best name brand with up to date features. Any suggestion?
I have the solution. I own a Xerox 6180 MFP, and I could not send over port 25. My ISP said they weren't blocking port 25, and my web server wasn't supposed to be blocking port 25, but something in EXIM (that has something to do with email) was blocking it, WHICH CAUSED THE PROBLEM. The solution is: For your SMTP login name and password don't enter your email address's u/p. Instead enter your website's cPanel (or whatever) u/p. For me it's the same u/p I use to log into www.yadayada.com/controlpanel to control my website. THEN choose "SMTP AUTH (Login)" as the 'email send authentication' type. I'm still using ports 25 and 110. And I still am entering my SMTP server address as whatever I use (mail.yadayada.com). The only thing I'm really changing is the above. Other than that, follow Xerox's instructions to do it over port 25. Oh. And for your POP3 server address, in case you don't know, don't enter mail.yadayada.com. For some reason you gotta just enter yadayada.com here (where 'yada' is your domain).

check how much the old one has left.. if this was more than 0% first use that one up. If it was 0%, try rebooting the machine without the yellow cartridge. When it is rebooted, out the yellow cartridge in.
I have the same problem and was told by the telephone helpdesk that the machine cannot copy double-sided to double-side. The duplexing referred to is copying 2 single-sided documents onto one single sheet on both sides....Like whoever does that! This is misleading on Xerox's part . Colin B.
As far as I know you need either the Xerox Accxes controller (like a dedicated PC) or a wide-format printer with the built-in Accxes controller, like the Xerox 8825 model. The 8825 has the firewire input and communicates just fine with the YWC-1.
Have you tried an other USB cable??? have you tried a different USB port on the computer??? try the scanner on an other computer as well, does it have POWER???... eazy stepps to troubleshoot all types of devices is to first make sure the device has POWER, than concentrate on connectivity (cables, ports, etc...) than try it on an other computer, re-install drivers as well..., check for viruses also, when everything is clean and it still not working than replace the device... it's dead (send flowers) ha! just kidding!
The flashing green light has the following meaning:
• Blinking green: indicates the scanner is waking up from power saving and preparing to scan. • Steady green: indicates the scanner is ready to scan.
How to Adjust the Power Save Settings for the DocuMate 252 1. Right-click on the One Touch icon and choose Show Hardware from the pop-up menu. You can also click the scanner icon at the top of the One Touch Button Panel. If the Hardware View of the panel is open you can also right- click on the DM252 icon. The Hardware Properties dialog box opens and shows information about your Xerox DocuMate 252 scanner. 2. Click the Properties button. Your scanner has a built-in power saving feature that is set to power down after 15 minutes of idle time. You can change the time before the scanner powers down, from 1 minute to a maximum of 3 hours. 3. Click the arrows for the Lamp timeout setting and choose a time setting. To return the scanner to its factory settings, click Reset Device. 4. Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box.
Let me know if this solves the problem and thank you, Binary Bob
