Desk top power supply

It's not likely a power supply issue. I assume that you've tested the monitor and keyboard on another computer to confirm that they're functioning properly. The power button LED should flash a number of times indicating what the issue is.
That's likely to be a motherboard issue over a power supply issue. Unplug the computer, then pop off the side and ensure that all internal connections are secure. I always unplug and then plug back in.
If that doesn't do the trick, see the following troubleshooting guide:

Cannot get the Fn-F5 to work on Acer AspireOne

You can switch to anexternal monitor by two methods.1. Connect the externalmonitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and thelaptop. The video information will automatically switch to the externalmonitor.2. If you power up thelaptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor bypressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make andmodel laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCDscreen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fnkey plus one of the function key. Here is a list of keycombinations for some of the laptops :-IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7HP and Compaq = Fn + F4Toshiba = Fn + F5Dell = Fn + F8

My power button for my HP a410n desk top flashes and beeps when I try to turn it on. I removed the side panel, checked the memory stick to make sure it wasn't loose, put it in the second slot, and checked...

It can be an issue with the motherboard or the SMPS(power supply unit)...
You can remove the 24pin power cable plugged in the mother board and you can plug it back...
also try to remove the cmos battery and place it back in the motherboard...

The data that is stored on the Hard disk will never get erased, so you need not worry about your data...!
