Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
Before the water would not spin out after wash cycle
by playing with the timer it would drain.
Now it will not agitate , drain or do anything except fill water
Kenmore model 11022722100 70 series
The symptoms you describe are typical of a lid switch failure. When a lid switch fails, the washer will fill, but stop at the spin cycle and will not drain. Sometimes it will fill, then stop. The switch is located under the washer top cabinet on the right hand side and is activated by a small plastic piece on the lid (called a "lid strike") through an opening along the right hand side of the casing next to the wash tub opening. First, make sure the lid strike is still intact on the lid. Next, open and close the lid and listen for a "clicking" sound. This is an indication that the lid strike is at least making contact with the switch. Then, check the two screws along the right side of the wash tub opening that hold the lid switch in place. Sometimes the screws come loose or fall out causing the switch to fail to contact the lid strike. In many cases, all that is required is to tighten these screws to realign the switch with the lid strike. If all these preliminary checks fail, the lid switch should eb replaced. The following link explains how:
If you require parts, go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number you provided. The lid switch will be listed under the "Top and Cabinet" heading as item number 11. The lid strike is listed as item number 20.
Some other sites to view are repairclinic.com and appliancepartspros.com. Sometimes these sites offer better pricing on parts.
If you have questions, or if the diagnosis is incorrect, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
NOTE: If the wash tub is full, you DO NOT have to empty to complete this repair. Once a defective switch is replaced, the washer will spin out and drain on its own.

If the cycle won't complete then either it's a problem with the timer or a cold-water supply problem:-
If your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water.
