For some reason I can no longer see names of contacts on text messages on my Nokia 6300, only their number. The names are stored in the phone/sim memory but just don't display on messages. Can anyone help?

Hello dear friend,
You have to Go
>MESSAGE SETTINGS(it is in bottom of Messaging menu)
Then go to Message Centres and Check Your Providers Message center Number is Correct and Save it.(If there is No Mesage Centre Number, then u hav to add it by using ADD CENTRE feature}.
>Then go Back to Just previous menu 'Text messages'
>And there wil be "Msg.centre in Use"(open it)
>and select The SIM msg .centre number(if you entered any name instead of sim msg centre /presist any number there, then u hav to select it as containing the message centre number..)
try entering the (+) plus sign and the country code then the mobile number / editing the numbers of your contacts. such as, a mobile number alone (depending on the sim) that reads as 09178943874 must be edited as +639178943874 (noting that +63 is the country code).
Kindly check the message center number from your mobile phone if its already there or you can contact your Network Service Provider to provide you the specific and correct message center number. Usually, you don't have to touch these numbers. If you suspect they are incorrect, contact your mobile service provider and ask them to send an Over The Air (OTA) message with the correct information in it.
Please be informed that the SMS Message Center Number is a phone number that acts as a gateway for transferring SMS messages between cellular devices.
From the Options pulldown menu, select Preferences.
The SMS Message Center and SMS E-mail Center number should appear. (Treo 600 note: tap on the tab that says SIM). If you do not see any numbers, it means your mobile service provider does not allow you to change these numbers. But usually you can edit these numbers and your Network Service Provider will provide you the correct and specific one.
Call you network provider(Whose SIM service you are using) and ask them to tell you the MESSAGE CENTRE NUMBER,then go to you message setting and then in TEXT MESSAGE SETTINGS go in the message centre number and type that number in the settings.then turn you cell phone off and then turn that on again, wait for one minute and then try sending you text messages
this may solve ur problem..go to menu, settings, hit the phone settings, hit the restore factory settings... if you have sec.code hit it there,,dont have.. just key in 12345,,. or use this *#7370# or *#6680#
