Cooling Fans compatible with Toshiba A15 laptop

None of the applications on my computer is working because there is a problem with the cooling system. I cleaned it up to no avail and so i thought of replacing the fan. Which ones are compatible with Toshiba A15 laptops.

Thanks

unfortunately... with a laptop you don't have as many choices as you do with a desktop computer.. pretty much as to be the exact part.

You can't replace the fan, you have to replace the power supply. In order to find out whih one you need the best thing to do is open your PC and find out the Wattage. It will be marked on the outside of your power supply. Just in case you do not know where the power supply is, if yo see where the vents are on your computer the power supply is there. It has a fan to blow the hot air out of it..

My fan is Intermittently offf and on idk why is there something wrong in the fan or the laptop

Dear zidane_is_th
No there is nothing wrong with it. It is reacting to the heat build up in your PC. When it senses the temperature rise it will kick the fans on to help it cool down.
Just be sure and keep your vents from being covered so as not to hinder the fans when it needs to cool down. Overheating is the No.1 cause of failure in Laptops.
Like random shutdowns.

Hope this helps if it did just click the thumbs up

Switches off for no reason

The fans themselves may need to be replaced or the thermal grease on the processor may need to be reapplied. What you are describing is caused by something getting to hot and then shutting the machine down to prevent damage.

Toshiba Satelite M10 cooling system not working

If you DO NOT hear the fan running, have it looked at by a professional. Your fan may have died. If you can hear the fan running, blow out the fan exhaust port in the opposite direction of normal air flow. Especially on lap tops, the heat sink cooling fins become completely clogged with dust. When this happens the processor overheats causing it to run slow and eventually shuts itself down to keep from going super nova. You should blow it out at least once or twice a year. Also, if you use your laptop on the couch or in bed, place it on a hard surface like a cutting board or something similar that will allow air to flow underneath the computer. This will also help prevent dust from the cushions or blankets and such from clogging the cooling fins on the heat sink faster than usual. Remember blow it out in the opposite direction of normal air flow. You want to blow the dust out the same passage it came in through.

Overheating problems

This is common with laptops if you use programs that use power. The notebook gets hot when the processor and hard drive are working hard. You are doing the right thing with the fan. They make coolers that go underneath the laptop that have fans for this reason. Check out this link. The link will explain everything. Never use your laptop on a flat surface. If you can find a cooler that is curved you are better off. Walmart has a good one. Also take everything apart that you can and blow it OUT. (Use a vacuum with a plastic hose if possible.)

Please rate this as a Fixya since I explained everything. This will keep my name near the top of the page. Thanks and enjoy your laptop.

Are you sure that nothing is overheating? If your cpu fan is turning too slow it won't disipate the heat. Do you have a program showing cpu temp:? I would take the access off the bottom and make sure the cpu fan is clean. If that is not the problem I believe you can turn the warnings off in the bios settings

Toshiba cooling system

If u have a laptop (that's what i found out that toshiba Qosmio is ) then is no problem that the fans stop (as long as the temp. is within the normal working margins ). U might have a setting problem - a bad software, managing the cooling system; - a bad BIOS setting regarding system temperature protection; - or the temperature detectors malfunctions, and must be changed (if possible)
