How many years do I have to have regular ballet shoes before I can move to pointe?

It depends on the age. You should never get them until you are atleast 13 or 14 years old because they can hurt your feet while they're still growing. But I'd say on average it takes about 4 to six years until your strength and balance is up to par.

You should make sure that you daughter has a plane black leotard. Usually teachers don't mind if they have sleeves or not but you might want to check to be sure. Also, she should have a pair of pink tights and a pair of pink ballet shoes, with the elastic already sewn in.
