Question about Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive
My brother dropped my western digital hard drive and now its maing a funnyticking noise when i power it up. This noise lasts for a few second and then stops, with no fan coming on or anything. The lights do however stay on. The computers i have tried it all say that the device is connected (i no thin becuase i still have to safely remove it) But the device does not show up in my computer. Is there any way his can be fixed without me having to buy another??

A clicking harddrive means thats its dead, if you have a warranty still call up western digital and get it traded out. i wouldnt tell them it was dropped .

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
