Blowback Airsoft Guns are Airsoft weapons that seem much the same as true firearms, since genuine firearms, well some, are secured in a Blowback layer of paint or something to that effect.

The entire slide on the gun with re-cock itself consequently after every shot then generally in the wake of shooting the complete cut after the last shot the slide stays open. The main issue with these airsoft guns is they will consume through your gas. CO2 or green gas both can have blowback.

Blowback airsoft guns divert a small quantity of co2 from each shot fired to operate the bolt or slide of your gun, thereby cocking it with each shot. This enhances realism, adds a sense of recoil (though nowhere near what an actual cartridge firearm generates), and is generally nifty to hear the gun shnicker shnack in and out of battery while you use it.

Depending on make and model they will use more or less co2 per shot. Almost all are powered by co2 cartridges though a few higher end models run on red/green propane gas, usu. dragunovs, m1 garands, and other semi auto reenactment class guns.
They are usually heavier than fixed action guns and have a noticeably higher pricetag attached when you shop for reasonable durability and quality.

On the field blowback pistols have comparable performance to their fixed action counterparts. Little difference in range or rate of fire will be noticed. Noise is a point of contention however and the clatter of a blowbback pistol stands to make you a unique target in a heavy skirmish.

Assault rifle class blowback guns pack more punch than a standard aeg (no performance parts, assuming .20 grain bb velocity of 350-400 fps). They usually have slightly higher projectile velocities with standard bbs and may or may not have a higher rate of fire depending upon how the gas orifices in the rifle are sized.

Ownership is a bit of a chore since there is a regimen of lubrication to maintain the numerous seals. Should you damage your gun replacement parts may be expensive or difficult to find (Start a search for replacement parts @ Evike.com). Extra magazines are expensive, between 25-55 USD per mag, and you will be buying co2 by the box if you play on a regular basis. ALSO, ONLY USE PREMIUM BBs. Protect your investment, no .15 grain walmart garbage; get the good stuff, it only takes one shattered bb to cut your gun's seals or jam and bend a delicate armature or linkage.

Hope this helps or sparks your interest in airsoft.

Pellets jammed in the gun's barrel

The best way I found to fix this is to break the gun down. Once you've done that you can slide the barrel out and use a push rod to remove jammed pellets. To stop this issue, I've read to not use short skirted or pointed pellet.
