First, cut the fruit in half. put the reamer into the fruit with the cone going into the middle of the fruit and you holding the handle. rotate the reamer while pressing the cone against the sides of the fruit. lastly, strain the juice because the pulp and seeds will probably be mixed in with the juice.

Is a reamer better than a juicer?

The reamer itself is considered a type of juicer, as one of the methods of producing juice is with the use of a device characterized by a conical blade with deep troughs running its length.
However, if by reamer we mean the original tool, with its blade attached to a handle rather than positioned over a small bowl, there is in fact a difference.
Both tools function on the same principle: a blade twisting inside the fruit to extract the juice. However, unlike original reamers, what we may call a reamer-based juicer is sometimes powered electrically, with its blade turning automatically, and sometimes manually, by pushing the fruit on the blade and turning it. Moreover this type of juicer provides an easy storage of the juice, in its little bowl sitting under the blade, and automatically strains the liquid removing most of the seeds and unwanted pith.
On the other hand, a manual reamer must be twisted by hand from its handle, and the fruit's juice must be carefully dropped in the proper location, be it a cup or a bowl, and consequently strained.
Therefore I believe that a reamer-based juicer is more convenient and easier to use than an original manual reamer

Do i need to strain the juice after using a reamer?

Grinding out the inside of the fruit with the blade of a reamer will usually dislodge the seeds and some of the pith so it is suggested to strain the juice before using it.

Could you please tell me if i have to remove the peel before using the juicer

What does the manual say? Depending on the item your putting in is whether or not you have to peel it or not. Typically no, you don't peel the fruit before using a hand juicer, but it it's a matter of taste.
I don't peel mine.. I aim to get all the vitamins and minerals that i can obtain from fresh fruits and veggies.
Some oils in the peel are making the juice bitter though, you have to do a trial and error on that. On Lemons because the white pith on the lemon (just under the yellow bit) can be quite bitter, and it will inadvertantly end up in your drink.

It will not cause you any problems if you do not peel the lemon. It's just a matter of taste. I just looked through all my juicer manuals and "Juiceman" says to leave them all on except for oranges and grapefruit due to their "extreme bitterness". My Waring manual (the one I use now) says you can do it either way but recommends you buy their citrus reamer. The other manuals say to peel them.

If this advice was helpful a vote for the thumbs up would be greatly appreciated
