What is a potatoe peeler?

A peeler (potato peeler or vegetable peeler) is a kitchen tool consisting of a slotted metal blade attached to a handle that is used to remove the outer skin or peel of certain vegetables, often potatoes and carrots, and fruits such as apples, pears, etc. A paring knife may also be used to peel vegetables. A peeler differs from a knife in that the blade has a slot cut into it, which is sharpened on the inside edge, while the other side prevents the blade from cutting too far into the vegetable.

What kinds of kitchen slicers are there?

Kitchen slicers can be of different kinds.
There are the mandolines, flat, generic slicers that make thinner and thicker slices of most kinds of hard fruits and vegetables.
There are the more specific kinds, that cut specific foods into specific shapes, like egg slicers or banana slicers, or apple slicers, or slicers that peel the fruit and remove the pit, like for pineapples, cherries and mangos. Of these specific kind there are many variations. There are twisters, that make thin twists of vegetables, usually used for carrots. There are spiral peelers, like for apples or pineapples. There are dicers that split the fruit in precise chunks.
And then there are the electric slicers, that shred and slice your food into bigger or smaller chunks or slices, for example to make fries by slicing potatoes into long thin rectangular pieces within minutes and with no physical effort.

I am not sure what parts you need for the Back to Basics apple peeler, but here is a fully list of parts that will fit that apple peeler.

The Victorio and Back to Basics apple peelers are almost identical so the parts are interchangeable.
