Question about Washing Machines
Switch off the machine for sometime and then power it while holding the play/pause button. If the machine does not reset but continues to flash it is possible that there are errors within or is a failure of the panel. Check the door switch, check the connectors and finally check for moisture in panel- If so use a hair dryer to mop up the moisture by heating the panel slowly,

Knock off the electric and unplug the machine . Remove the Rear cover. On the lower right hand side is a pump and rubber filter unit. This gets clogged up with whatever falls out of pockets such as Coins , buttons ,Hairclips and underwires . You will need a small screw driver to open the clamp up by prizing the teeth apart . Make sure you have something on the floor like rags or towels to soak up the excess water still in the pipes . You may be able to get a small tray underneath if the washing machine is tilted forward to gain access..
When the filter part is off , Remove the white insert and take out the Ball and whatever is the blockage, Refit the filter unit making sure the white plastic part shown joins into the slots of the one still on the machine. Once all the clips are secured and all is complete.
Leave the back off for now and replug the machine in and try a short rinse programme to see if if leeks when pumping out.
If it is dry underneath the machine replace the rear cover and push the machine back into its usual place.

Remove the white plastic cover on the back near the bottom. To the right as you look at it their will be a black concertina pipe with a hose clip on its top edge. Undo this and pull the pipe downwards to reveal the filter. There will be a plastic ball inside (which is supposed to be there) remove this and clear out the cr*p.
Re-assemble as removal.
That should fix it

First of all try cleaning the filter inside the back as described by others if this does not work there is a filter in the top. how you clean this is quite easy. all you do is remove the top of the machine by undoing the 2 screws at the back then pull top top backwards when you have removed the top you well see a large metal casing on the left if you are looking from the the back of the machine the filter is in there to remove the casing you pull the small pipe off then undo 5 star headed screws then gently pull the casing off noteing that there is a large pipe at the front when you have remover the casing you will see the filter (the small pipe you removed at the start fits on this filter) clean the filter then put it all back together.

the problem here is the machine is not emptying when its supposed to, you will find it is stopping at the rinse cycles. there is a sump underneath the machine that needs to be emptied. From my experiences, 9 out of 10 hotpoints that i would of repaired with the same problem as you are having is usualy caused by using the color catcher sheets, they are a disaster.
