Can I remove the pump filter on the WMD960

What was the washer doing that made you attempt this repair? I would say you will need to replace the pump assembly now.

Whirlpool washing machine "clean pump" error light.

take top off machine. look down right side and you will see a disc about 50 mm in diameter, attached to this is a small flexible rubber pipe, take this off at the disc and blow through it,( you will need some type of pipe to connect to the rubber pipe).this worked for me with the very same problem.

Front loading whirlpool machine WFS1072AW which needs pump clean

WFS1072AW has a clip in panel at the bottom across the front.
Removing this will reveal a black plug on the right.
Unscrew this and water will gush out along with (hopefully) the offending coins.

I get a message saying check outlet pipes. If

If you need to clean the filter, then remove the lower rear cover.
Remove large black hose fastened to drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here, and check inside the pump as well.
Hope this helps with your prob, Good luck.

Machine will not drain at end of cycle - beeping at me

Yes it is a pump problem , if it has a filter, remove and clean same.
If you can't find a filter then you need to locate pump and check it.
The pump will have the drain hose connected to it, trace the hose back to the pump.
