    blurry lens

Preparing to take a picture but the screen is black, as if the lens cap is on. We are able to take the picture but when you view the picture of course there is no image. We have scrolled through the menu and reset all operations to the default with no success.

I have the same problem with my flawless-up-until-today S2-IS. I read in another link the problem is related to moisture causing the iris to stick, requiring a forced reboot. This worked for me, but after putting away the camera for a few days the prblem returned and needed the trick again.

When you turn on the camera and are able to see menus but the image displays are dark, try the following:
1. Place the program selector to "Tv" setting
2. Press the self-timer selector (twice) until you see the timer icon on the screen
3. Press the shutter button to take a photo; the self-timer begins to beep a countdown
4. Open the battery cover BEFORE the timer runs out.
5. After a second, close the battery cover and the camera will power cycle automoatically.
6. The displays should return to normal.
You may have to repeat this a few times to get it to work. Good luck.

Was dropped. Now will do everything EXCEPT take photos. Lens, display, flash, etc. etc. all work fine. Just no screen image or photo when in "shoot" mode.

Sounds like the CCD or a stuck shutter blade. Try this place: www.CamerasAndParts.com They only service Canons and they are the only place we recommend for the Canons. It's all they work on and they are about half the price of most shops, plus the work is just excellent through them.

I put the 1.5 erecting lens in, however, I am getting a tilted veiw not an upside down one without it How do I get the veiw totally upright?

Turn the diagonal, and the image rotates. Using the scope for star gazing it does not matter. Normally an astronomical telescope shows an upside down image--- no up or down in space. The erecting prism is only used for terrestrial viewing as the prisms inside are probably NOT multi-coated.

JVC D65OUS DVC

You have a defective CCD imager - the part of the lens that receives the image. Will need to be replaced.

No image in viewfinder

CCD sensor faulty and has to be replaced ( you can playback fine but no image in capture mode ). Manufacturer's agent should repair this fault free of charge as you clerly bought a faulty product.

Dropped my camera

Take for repair - The cost will be about half the price of a new camera assuming that parts can be found. Get the new camera.
