I have the same problem. The robot starts but immediately it curves to one side and after a few seconds stops (no beeps). It stops and starts like this a few times and then gives the 'uh-oh' with 4 beeps. During the starting and stoping routine the one wheel appears to actually move backwards and then stops altogether lurching the robot up.

I have taken apart the roomba to inspect the cleaning sensors and wheels for debris and found both wheels in great condition (the robot is hardly used though over its warranty). Here is the guide to taking apart the roomba:http://mysteryroad.blogs.com/photos/room...

If anyone has an ideas on what else might be the problem please let me know! Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem with the Roomba. I just installed a new (expensive!) battery and now, when I turn it on, the Roomba spins around in circles and bucks to turn to a different direction. It is charged up, according to the colored lights it shows. What is wrong and what can I do to correct this?

I've hardly used my Roomba and the battery is fully charged and sensors wiped but it still spins in a circle, pauses, then spins again. After three times it does the uh-oh and beeps4 times..... Help!

Mine used to buck and spin and then stop. Don't know if this will work, but it did for me. Before turning my Roomba on, I hold it on the floor and move it back and forth a few times so that the wheels spin. This seems to break up the initial resistance in the wheels and it solved my problem. Good luck.

I starts and tehn stops and beeps three times. I can start it aain and it will run but then it does the same thing'

Hi,

TYhe iRobot Roomba has different model designations. Here is a webpage with a list of what the beeps mean in the 400 series. I am thinking that is what you have. 3 beeps means the dirt cup is dirty, filters are dirty, or debris in collecting and it needs to be cleaned.

Here is the webpage: http://uksupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1047/kw/iRobot%20Roomba%20Discovery%20SE%20Bagless%20Robotic%204200%20series%20Vacuum%20beeps%203%20times/related/1

Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote. Thanks,

hey gsaban
does it sing 9 beep when it stops ?
if it does, you are facing a known issue of bumper sensor fail.

My Roomba will not move forward. It will try and spin itself and then try to move forward but then spin itself again until it stops and beeps. I tried cleaning the whole unit but it still is unable move...

Hey
is it 5xx Roomba ? is it 9 beep that it sounds ?

Please look for other same problem posted here ;-)
You are probably facing a bumper sensor issue.
Try to clean the bumper first and if this goes on, either call iRobot service, or
take a look at this page for the step by step 9 beep fix.

Backs up spins in circles, then red light flashes and beeps

Sounds like either the battery is bad or not being charged properly with subsequent loss of programming.

Dont move forward.

Blow out the unit with compressed air, particularly around the wheels and under the bumper. Tap the bumper with your hand.

If your Roomba stops and beeps at you, count the beeps AFTER the initial "uh-oh" tone. Then call customer support (1-877-855-8593) for assistance.

Good luck.

Spins, stops and can't find dock

The problem is your Roomba's bumper. Tap it with your hand about a dozen times, blow it out with compressed air, and then try running the Roomba. If the same thing occurs, call support at 1-877-855-8593. (Be sure to have the Roomba with you when you call.)

My roomba now just spins in circles in one spot. it does not go anywhere.

Try blowing out your bumper with compressed air. Tap the bumper with your hand to knock loose any obstructions. Then run your Roomba. If the behavior persists, the best way to resolve it is to call customer support. (The number should be in your documentation or on the bottom of the robot.)
