If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Can't read the screen

Can't read the screen? Please give more details. Is the screen black? Is the screen blurry? What are you doing when this happens? When does it happen?

Can't read screen makes me think that there are things written on the screen, but you can't read it because it's blurry or too small.

HelloYou have to reset the lamp time after lamp replacement. To reset lamp time follow these steps.[1] Press the power button, so that a picture is projected onto the screen.[2] Press the 'menu' button to display the 'main menu' screen, and press 'up' or 'down' buttons to move the cursor to select 'options-2'.[3] Press the 'enter' button to display the 'options-2' screen, and then use the 'up' and 'down' button to select 'lamp runtime'.[4] Press and hold 'enter' button for approximately 3 seconds. The 'lamp runtime' will change to 'time reset [power off]. Note: If the 'menu' button is pressed the lamp time resetting screen will be cancelled.[5] Hold down the 'power' buttonfor at least [0.5] seconds or press the 'power' button twice to turn oFF the power. This will reset the cumulative usage time for the lamp unit into Zero. OK.

How do i swap outscreens form one acer aspire to another i have a old one and want to replace the screen on my other which got stepped on

Swapping out is not that tough.

What you do need to know however, is if the LCD screen from the older Aspire One netbook, will work in the 'other' one.

A newer model of Aspire One may Not have the same specifications of it's LCD screen, as one in per se, an older Aspire One.

The screen size may be comparable, the finish also. (Glossy or Matte)
But the voltage requirements, signal requirements, and other specs may be different.
This means also that the Video Cable will be different.

What to do?
You're going to have to remove the LCD screen out of the older Aspire One, and out of the 'other' Aspire One, and look at the information on the back of the LCD screens.

Look at the manufacturer, and model number.
Also of course, it will only take a few seconds to see if the Video Cables are compatible.
If they aren't, it isn't worth going any further.

[ In looking from a brief search, it seems all Aspire One laptop/mini's use a 40-pin video cable connector,

http://www.screenaid.com/acer-laptop-lcd-screens-aspire-one-c-40_14691.html

Looks good so far ]

If the older Aspire One LCD screen video cable, will not plug into the 'other' Aspire One motherboard, you can't use it. Can't use the older Aspire One LCD screen.

IF, the video cables appear to be exactly the same, then I would recommend looking up the specs for both LCD screens, on the internet.
Or post in a Comment on here, and I'll look it up.

(Manufacturer name, and model number's on back of both LCD screens)

Also a Primer;
An LCD screen cannot produce light. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight is a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent lamp.
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

[ Note*
However your model may use LED lights for a Backlight, instead of Fluorescent lighting ]

A Inverter (screen Inverter) is used to convert the power from the laptop, for the LCD screen, and Backlight.

The LCD screen AND Inverter are a MATCHED unit.

This also needs to be looked up on the internet, to see if they are compatible, from the older Aspire One's LCD screen, to the 'other' Aspire One's screen Inverter.

There are MANY models of the Acer Aspire One.
I will post links to info I have on disassembly, to include replacing the LCD screen.

1) http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

Where it states Aspire One, NAV50, click on the blue - One

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the file name (One) it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.

I can't calibrate the leapster.I can't get pass enter a name

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you need to sync the device to the stylus just follow the steps below.

1. Turn your Leapster 2 off, and remove the game cartridge

2. Hold down the 'hint' button while the game is off. The 'hint' button is the middle small button in the row of three above the directional pad on the left, with a '?' on it.

3. With your finger still firmly on the 'hint' button, turn the Leapster 2 back on. Keep your finger on the 'hint' button.

4. The screen should be displaying the calibration screen. You can release the 'hint' button now.
5. Press the 'A' button on the right to enter the calibration screen.

6. A small '+' sign will appear on the screen. Touch it with the stylus. A new '+' sign will appear. Touch this with the stylus too, and repeat for as many '+' signs as your Leapster 2 throws at you.

7. The screen will return to the calibration screen. You can now turn the machine off. Leave the cartridge out of the console, and turn it back on.

8. Your stylus and touch screen should now be working, enabling you to sign in as usual.

9. If it is working correctly then you can turn it off, add a game cartridge and turn it back on.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya
