I want to buy some musical toys for my toddler and newborn. Is there a toy that combines several in to one? Or do I need to buy lots of different toys.

You can buy them separately if you want to pick specific items that you know your kids will like, but I did come across a one man band type toy that had combines 10 musical instruments into the one bench. It looks very cute and is wooden which I think is a real plus.

Take a look at the link;

Where can I buy a wooden xylophone?

Try the Amazon site. They have a wooden xylophone that has colored blocks, so the sound is nicer than metal ones but it still looks fun.

Do people still buy xylophones for kids? I want to get my nephew a gift for his first birthday but am not sure if it would be appropriate.

Totally go for it! Xylophones make a great musical toy for young kids as it takes very little effort for them to get different sounds out of it. It can get a bit grating on the ears, but if you don't like the metallic sound, buy a wooden one.

What are toy blasters? My nephew asked me to buy him one for his birthday

Toy blasters include toys such as nerf guns. they are a variation on the classic toy gun and look more like a paintballing type toy. Toy blasters usually come with darts of some kind to shoot at 'the enemy'. These darts are made from sponge or other soft material so that they can't hurt anyone.

Is it worth buying beach toys for my nieces and nephews or will they just be happy to play in the sand?

When kids don't have anything to play with, they make do with what they have, but these days there are some brilliant sand toys around that you can use on the beach or in the sand pit. You can get everything from sand toys that help you haul, trawl and build, to toys for throwing games etc. I'd say it's well worth investing and your family will be very grateful.

Can you buy wooden high chairs? All the ones in my local baby shop were made from plastic.

Wooden high chairs are a more old fashioned design but they are making a bit of a comeback. Toys'r'us have a whole range of wooden high chairs. They seem to be more expensive than plastic but are quite long lasting.

Wooden Blocks Toys problems

When first choosing a toy for a child, it is best to determine if the toy is age appropriate. The toy packaging usually has age recommendations. Companies take the time to research and test their toys before they put them out on the market. It is always best to monitor your child, especially a toddler, with any toy. Kids seem to have the knack for finding a weak spot with things whether they want to or not. Best rule of thumb is if a toy is smaller than the palm of your childs hand or if it can fit in their mouth, don't let them play with it. Children are special gifts. Let's protect them at all costs. Good luck.
