VIDEO CARD DRIVER

Hi,

The ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI video card is a very old and low power video card.

PCI graphics cards are not as fast as AGP graphics cards so if your motherboard has an AGP slot (it's the slot closest to the CPU and is usually coloured brown) then that would give you better performance.

These days AGP has been superceded by PCI-Express but since your motherboard does not have a PCI-Express slot then the best graphics card for it would be something like this one:

Um a ati rage 128 pro is not a very powerful card, and after win 98 there isn't any support for direct3d or opengl. So you will need to upgrade to a better card if you expect to play games.

This could be your problem

The card is just too old. There are no updated drivers around.
Either of these two cards listed on this link can replace your old AGP 4x card;

it depends on what os you are installing if you are installing windows xp, all pre 2000 graphics card dont usualy need drivers in windows xp, if its not asking for drivers you maybe have to install them manualy

go to the ATI site and see if there's one available. if not then you'll need to purchase a new video card that will suppose the graphics - NVidia is a good brand.
