Question about Intel Motherboard

Pc won't power up

GA-M57SLI-S4 motherboard

i built this 3 days ago,
was having cps fan problems so i updated the bios yesterday.
restarted the pc and everything worked fine.
was on the pc for about 8hr, had no problems at all.
when i turned it on today it would not power up.
i have tried 4 different psu, 350, 2x 500 and 550, no luck. the 550 and one of the 500 were in other pc's and working fine.
the one i have in the pc at min is a 500. from ebuyer.
i read in this forum, that if there was no red light on the board then it's a psu problem,
tbh i see no red led on the motherboard at all
remover all the hardware except the cpu and still no power.
i have cleared the bios ( with the pins) and removed the battery.
checked the power switch. connected both pins to see if it was the front panel switch, still will not power up.
think thats about it lol.

If you've tried other power supply's and are positive that the power button is connected properly and are getting nothing, no beep no lights no fans, then you got yourself a bad board.

My PC running a Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 motherboard won't boot up - it emits a continuos series of beeps: a 1sec beep with a 10sec pause then keeps repeating & cannot even get into Bios setup

Check your CPU make sure its placed correctly and that you don't have too much contact grease, you only need a very small amount.
If that's not the problem try re-seating your ram and video card.
Other then that look at the power supply could be under powered!
hope this has helped

Computer randomly shuts downs. i have checked ram/hd/psu and all are fine. It hasn't shut down on me in the bios or loding though or when playing games but it shuts down a lot when just in windows or...

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

hope this helps

Graphics cards will not update. Tested in another

Maybe your card slot on the mobo has frazzled or at least a component/s supplying it. I've had this happen years ago, normally caused by careless handling - always wear an antistatic wrist strap and/or use antistatic mat when working on a motherboard.
Alternatively ensure the contacts are clean and not bent in the slot.
I've also come across dry solder spots on graphic card slots in the past especially on some AGP ones as in the erly days it was quite a forceful job putting one of these cards in. Evenly applied pressure yields the safest installation.

Mainboard dead i need super help to prove wrong the people who blame it on me istead of agreeing..

I'd recommend using a known good power supply, a known good PC speaker, and a digital multimeter.

Search for the voltage regulators (usually have a small heatsink attached) and any voltage converters (usually close to some coils of wire wrapped around a ferrite "donut"). Look up their datasheets online, and check the voltages into and out of each of them. If the voltages are okay, listen for any beep codes when powering up. If that doesn't work, consider buying a "Post Card" - Power On Self Test Card. You plug it into the PCI or ISA sockets, and it will show you a numeric code to indicate how far the power up sequence has progressed. Retail for about $20 to $40 CDN.

GA-M57SLI-S4 wont power up !!! what to do !

Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the manual that came with the board ,this show you where to connect them on board The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] in most cases check to see if this is correctly connected
To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if it shows a red led light when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet.
second if the light is on, bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, check the processor and ram if not you have a faulty board.
