Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
I recently bought a new ps2 and i bought guitar hero 3 legends of rock the receiver it came with connect to the controller slot so it works perfectly, then i bought a separate guitar for ps2 its guitar hero world tour and the receiver connects to the usb not the controller slot. when connected to the usb the light wont turn on or catch a signal with the guitar from GHWT -.- i then connected the reciver to a ps3 and the light turns on and reads the guitar perfectly. my question is, if the GHWT is for ps2 why doesnt the ps2 read it but ps3 does -.-

SOURCE: Guitar Hero World Tour PS2
If you have old ps2(fat one) or some of the older slim models they are unable to read the new dual layer discs like GHWT. You can send your ps2 back to sony to reformat it to be able to read these new discs for about $50. There is currently a class action lawsuit against sony and activision for not being upfront about this problem.

The PS2 has always had trouble with certain discs. And yes you can often tell by the "color". RE4 although from ancient was pre PS3 and basically some of the newer games wont work on the "old" PS2's as well. Partially due to the fact they are a bit dirtier and worn out and cant read the faster speeds as well. You might want to consider purchasing a "new" PS2 ($99) that wont have the same problem.

Just plug the Guitar Hero drums wireless adapter into the usb port. Then press the power button on the drums to switch them on ,then hold down the button on the adapter and press the power button on the drums again .They should connect ,if not it may be the version of your playstation doesnt work with the Guitar Hero World Tour disk.

Check the bottom of the disc it may be dirty or scratched. If its dirty then clean it with rubbing alcohol, if scratched you'll have to buy a scratch remover.
