Firstly, check your software settings, sometimes you need to reduce the print speed a bit, and turn the darkness up... if there is a knob for print head pressure adjustment, turn it up! i'd also clean the head and platen roller with isopropyl alcohol, failing all of the above, contact your media supplier and check that you have the correct media combination. hope this is of help to you, Markus.ps Failing that ...if you need a trained intermec engineer....... contact Precision Peripherals.... jrichards@printer-service.co.uk

Do you know why or how printing a label would reset the darkness setting back to 0? I set it to 10 and print the test prints fine, turn the printer on/off multiple times and the darkness stays at 10 but when I print a label it goes back to 0 and the portions of the label are unlegable.

My eltron ip2844 wont print dark enough. I went into setting and turned the burn darkness to 15, but still not dark? Help!!

This may be due to your thermal paper.
This printer doesn't deliver enough heat to your paper or you have a problem with the head pressure.
Press on the bloc while printing to see if it's this reason?
You may also have a mis-alignement of the thermal head.
Try also to change the print speed?

HI, our Zebra 4m+ is currently set to a Darkness of 30 as that seems to eb th eonly way it will print enough detail on the label. We have tried adjusting the pressure settings to no avail. Now we are...

Full resin ribbons tend to require higher darkness settins on all thermal printers.
It could be a mismatch between label and ribbon. This would need to be looked by your supplier.

The barcode cannot be printed on the direct label

Your description is not very specific but no printing can be the result of:
1. The darkness is not set high enough
2. The ribbon is loaded backwards
3. You are trying to do direct thermal printing (no ribbon) but the label stock is not direct thermal stock.

Maybe you can provide more details.

Hope this helps,

Not printing

If you send a format and the label advances but does not print, then it is possible that the darkness setting is not high enough for the label/ribbon combination. Depending on what software / printer driver you are using, many times the darkness setting in the software or driver will override what is in the printer. This makes it possible to have the test print work just fine but no printing when a label format is sent the printer.

If you are sending a format and nothing at all happens at the printer, then that is a communication issue. How are you connecting the PC to the printer ?

Label print too light

This could be caused by the darkness setting coming from the label software / printer driver. It's set too low and that setting will usually override the darkness setting in the printer. That's why test labels are fine.

Hope that helps.

My Z4M Plus printer is not printing the label all the settings are fine no error. The ribbion shows the image but it doesnot print on the Label.

Two possiblities: 1. the darkness is not high enough for the ribbon/label combination. 2. the ribbon is on backwards. if the ribbon is on backwards, you will still see an impression on the ribbon but not on the label. This means all the ink transferred to the printhead which should then be cleaned.

The ink side of the ribbon needs to face down to the label to print so the easiest way to make sure which side has the ink is to use a label or piece of tape and touch it to the ribbon. If no ink comes up in the adhesive then that is the wrong side.

Hope that helps !

Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough

In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.

My lp 2844 will not print

Firstly is your label Thermal Direct?(DT)
To test quickly score your fingernail across the surface of the label, if it leaves a black mark then it is DT
If there is no mark then it is probablly Thermal Transfer(TT) and requires a ribbon, which you cannot use on the LP 2844, only on the TLP2844.

If you have DT labels then go into the printer driver via Printers & Faxes and the Printing preferences and change the darkness to level 7.
Try printing again.
If it works then cahnge the darkness again until you get a satisfactory print darkensss.
If it still does not print then change the darkness to maximum, does it print?
If not then I think you have a duff printer, return it to the company that supplied it for repair.
Any problems contact Lancer labels

Printer set up but will not print. newly installed printer will not print even a set up page. Will not print the sample page using zebra label designer.

Are you using thermal paer or thermal transfer?

Get one label and place a cigarrette lighter next to it for less than one second. If the label turns dark like supermarket receipts, then is thermal paper. (In this case let me know and we will try to diagnose what the problem is)

If the label does not turn dark at all, then you have the wrong type of labels for this printer unless you have the option to use ribbon.
