Question about Samsung Qx410-s02 - Intel Core I5 - 640gb Hdd - 4gb Ram - Nvidia Geforce 310m

Open Question

Usb port damaged on Samsung qx410-S02 repairable?

There is only one USB port on this model notebook and something has happened to damage it and nothing works in it. The computer works just fine otherwise. Do you know if this can be replaced or is it native on the motherboard?

SOURCE: error code 19 - Device MANAGER - USB devices

What OS are you running? XP, Vista, 7, etc? In Control Panel where you see the yellow exclamation mark, right click and select Update Driver. When it asks where to find the driver, tell it to search the internet.
If it does not update, then go to the Samsung website to locate the drivers for your computer and OS.

SOURCE: I HAVE A SAMSUNG N148

Yes most laptop screens can be replaced. Check with your local computer repair centers and see if they replace them. They are not to hard to replace but do require a person who knows what they are doing and what to look for. My place of work does fix them but we are located in Minnesota and it would require us getting the laptop and ordering the correct screen and then replacing it and shipping it back. Which could cost more then your local computer repair center to do.

Best of luck..

I am trying to hook up a new printer HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Series and none of my usb ports seem to be working. Do these ports manfunction due to age?

yes, unfortuantely they do wear out (in/out connecting) ..thats why i always suggest using a USB hub (retails for about $10-$15 or less) -- plug it into one USB port and leave it (if its a desktop, dont try this with notebook or you will forget its there and cause damage while moving it around, from one place to another)

-try blowing out the dust from the inside USB connection of your computer , try it again -- but buy a USB hub first ,, youc ant go wrong having this around

is it a desktop ? if so , buy a new USB card and replace the old one

if its a notebook -- bad news , you need to spend money to replace the USB ports or buy another mainboard

i hate to see this happen --

what model & Mfg is your computer ?

Shows overcurrent on usb ports will not reset.

There is no reset. This issue can be attributed to two main causes.

1. Poor quality USB devices that have an internal short or place too much of a current demand on the USB electrical system. This issue may not manifest itself at first but with prolonged use of a bad USB device, damage can occur to the USB device and the internal USB controller. The damage is not reversable.

2. The USB controller on the motherboard is failing, or has been damaged.

As this controller is built in to the motherboard, there is not an easy way to repair the issue without help of the manufacturer or authorized repair center. Check with the manufacturer to see if this is frequent issue with this model, as there may be a technical bulletin posted about the issue. Like recalls with automobiles, the manufacturer may fix the issue free of charge.

Usb damage

It wouldn't hurt to be honest about what happened with the service plan provider and see what they say. It would be a shame to have to replace your computer over a broken USB port. You can always purchase a USB hub which plugs into one USB port and supplies you with two or more USB ports.

Good Luck,

One of my Acer Aspire USB port will not let me

It is most likely that the Port has been damaged by having the wrong cable plugged into it. If one Port is still working, there is nothing wrong with the Computer.

With a Flash light, look inside the Port to see if any of the Contact Points are bent or damaged. If they are, there is only a slight chance that the Port Can be Repaired.

It will probably be cheaper to buy a 4 Port USB Hub and use the one Port with it.

Good Luck!
