Does the red light come on? Do you hear a relay click, Have you unplugged and plugged the set back in? Short of opening the set up you probably have a power supply/deflection issue and will require a tv technician.

I have a philips 9p6044, and there is no picture or audio. It has power, but there is no display or sound. What can be the problem?

On that model if its making a constant chirp sound while powered on? If so then its most likely a convergence failure.

If its not chirping then the next most common failure is a power amp. Both are realtively easy DIY fixes. The website has complete kits for both. Hope this helps.

I see someone else has had a similar problem(Jun 15,2010), but no solution posted yet. I have a monster surge protector. It worked the first night that we lost power. I reset it and everything was fine....

Unplug the tv and the cable box about an hour, replug both devices back in.The cable box will reboot itself and upgrade it softwares. The tv should have signal again and work.

No sound or picture but menu comes up

Check video source like DVD Player has power, check connecting cords, cable connections etc.
when TV gives menu on screen that means TV is fine and problem could be hooked video signal items.

I hate to say this, but this is why I've been trying to tell people here not to fix these sets. This is EXACTLY why I don't repair Magnovox any more. They just don't hold up to repairs. Those sets can have a bad small signal board or a power/deflection board. I'm sorry your having problems. Sound like the power/deflection board is working since you say it powers up. Some of those sets have a "daughter board" that plugs in on edge of the signal board "SSB" that go bad all the time. All the video and sound go through it. Just cut your losses and don't spend any more money on it. I hope it's something simple for you, but I'm affaid it won't. Good-luck.

Samsung HCL4715W will not power on

At five years old, I doubt it will be worth replacing the power supply , a picture tube or two and possible the signal board. Cut your loses and get a new set.

Hitachi 62VS69 LCD Rear projection TV

It sound to me like a defective light engine. If so this is a very expensive repair if you set not under warranty or a service contract. This could have been damaged by a power surge.

No power

Brand, and size please? Most problems come from either the power supply, or deflection circuits.

No picture, sound OK...setup menu shows up, able to get picture in PIP

You will need to check the inputs on the television. You more than likely have a bad video in signal. This can be a bad cable or a loose connection either at the input of your television or at the output from your receiver, (cable or satellite). First, try wiggling the cable and then try replacing it. This should fix the problem. If not, your signal may be routed through a stereo or other switching device?
