Question about Bassett Cottage 3-in-1 Crib

How do I change a Sleigh Crib into a double bed?

I have gone out and bought rails and mattresses but now I am not clear on how to change this crib into a bed. I dont see where the rails attach to the head board and foot board without drilling holes into the boards? I also want to know was i supposed to buy a certain type of rails? Reason I ask is that I don't see any feet for the bed , seems strange for the rails to lay on the floor? Please help.

To convert each to the twin bed configuration, the outer vertical rail
members are removed and the central member is rotated ninety degrees.
The rotated members form the twin headboard and footboard. The rotated
members may be re-configured to provide a higher headboard than
footboard in the twin configuration. The mattress frame assembly is
also re-configurable between the crib bed configuration and the twin
bed configuration, by pivoting extension frame members between
perpendicular and parallel positions relative to a central frame
    member.

Here's HOW..

STEP 1: Mount one Side to the rear posts of the Headboards. Use four Decorative Bolts to fasten the side to the posts. DO NOT tighten the bolts yet.

STEP 2: Install the Mattress Support Spring in the crib with the flat side up. Extend the mounting flange on each corner and attach the spring to headboard and footboard at the desired level using four Hex Bolts and Hex Wrench provided. The top position is recommended for newborns. The bottom position must be used when the baby is able to kneel or stand in the crib.

STEP 3: Mount the other Side to the posts of the Headboards. Use four Decorative Bolts to fasten the side to the posts. Tighten all bolts, including the ones from the first side, with the Allen wrench provided.

STEP 4: Once the crib is in use, periodically check to make sure all bolts are tight, and tighten as necessary. For future use, keep these instructions in the plastic bag attached to the mattress support spring.

    Conversion to Toddler Bed:

    • Mattress should be in lowest position.

    • Remove one Side by unscrewing the 4 Decorative Bolts holding it in place.

    • Be sure to loosen all the other Decorative Bolts before attempting to remove the Side.

    • Once removed, attach Toddler Rail (sold separately) using two of the Decorative Bolts you just removed and the Shorter Bolt packaged with the Toddler Rail, and retighten all remaining Decorative Bolts.

If the railing are not made for that crib DO NOT use them as your child can be severely injured if they are not installed properly which is likely to only happen if the rails are made for the crib.

All you have to do is remove the plastic slider rails on the top and bottom of the front rail and take off the rail. This bed still has 3 rails like a daybed when it is changed into a toddler bed.

If its like mine, you just remove the front panel that went up and down. Then lower the wood mattress support to the lowest level. You are now ready for the toddler bed. Once you want to convert to a double bed frame. You have to purchase a metal frame that holds the bed. Then attach the back and the front to the metal frame. This should like a sleigh bed. Good Luck, Nicol

HOW DO I ACTUALLY CONVERT A 3 in 1 CRIB TO A BED?

I have two children and I changed their beds from the cribs to the day beds by taking the front or footboard part off.  You have to save this part because in order to change it from the day bed to a full bed, you have to buy a siderail kit, take the sides off, and attach the siderails to the headboard and footboard.  Hope this helps!

Changing from a crib to a toddler bed

1-Lower drop side to lower position. Then on the opposite side of the crib, remove stationary side. To remove stationary side, press the small tab on the end hardware(brown plastic piece that connects the rail to the frame) and then pull rail up.
2-Before reinstalling the conversion safety rail(csr), remove the mattress support bolt that is on the side the the csr opening will be(the foot of the bed). A new bolt will be used to reattach the mattress support in the next step.
3-Slide csr hardware onto the hardware on the crib ends. Insert two 1/4-20x2" bolts into each end. One bolt will replace the mattress support removed in step 2. Be sure to put the bolt back through the mattress support bracket before screwing into the end.

I have the instruction page with pictures if you would like a copy emailed.
