The reply from Andrew911 IS NOT an answer to my post. If I knew what I did wrong, I would not have asked for a solution.
    It's disappointing!!
If you can't help me, please refund my payment.

    Sir,

I did exactly what you said many times. I even changed a different hdmi cable; I did see the timer was on; the recorder started recording, but after it finished, there is nothing on the disc. Is there anything that I should do after the recording is finished? Do I need to format it? Can you please help.

    Thanks

I don't know what I did, but somehow I fixed it. Thank you.

Your timer needs to be off. Also wondering if your dmr is on the right channel for the recording.
Your DVD's MUST BE +R

I only use +RW discs. They do not have to be finalized The only time you need to
finalize a +RW disc is if you want to see a menu on a stand-alone
player.

Also , the recorder may not have a digital FTA tuner in it. Hardly any
of the DVD recorders on the market have them.
You can record from an analogue source (such a an digital STU/STB - their
output is analogue).
Try using the analog. (3 RCA jacks= yellow, red, and white)

Here is what I do to make DVDs   1. Use this DVRMSToolbox to convert the Media Center's file to mpeg.   2. Use VideoReDo to cut out the commercials.   3. Use DVD Author to make menus and create DVD files   4. If the files you created in step 3 are over the size of a DVD (4.7 GB), use DVD Shrink to compress the files.    5. Burn the image file to a DVD-R with Nero or Roxio.
here is what all you will need  1. Use VideoReDo to remove commerials and save as mpeg (about 10 minutes for 1.5 hour show)
2. Nero Vision to burn the dvd (8 minutes to transcode the file, 8 mintues to burn)

Is the Samsung HDTV capable of the HDAVI control, which is Panasonic's proprietary HDMI control communications standard (see page 40 of the manual for the DVD-RW.)?

Depends what you have got. If you record wrong programm it is a problem with timer. If you got just blank, no picture sound the channel might be protected from recording
Good Luck

DVD-RW must be formatted to your machine before use. Have you done that?

Hi,

Follow the instruction manual one more time for the connections. Once connections are done do the following.

Turn on the television and select the appropriate video input to suit the
connections to this unit (Example: AV input, CH3 or CH4).
 [RAM] If the disc is protected, release protection (􀂼 52).
 [VHS] Ensure accidental erasure tab is intact.

1, Turn the unit on ("hello"appears on the unit's display)
2, Select drive "DVD or VHS
3, Insert the DVD or VHS
4, Select desired channel (When no channel setting is performed on the unit and broadcast
is recorded directly from the cable box or satellite receiver,
select a channel on the connected equipment and press
[INPUT SELECT] to select “IN1” or “IN2”.)
5, Press "REC MODE" to select recording mode
6, Press "REC" tostart recording

Regards

You need to set Time in DVD Recorder, Plug Cable and tune TV Channels in Recorder then set ON and OFF timer and feed channel number to record desired program and set the unit in to timer.
DVD Recorder will power up itself and start recording.

I think you forget to "finalize disc" at end of recording session before ejecting disc from unit.

I haven't tried this yet, but I remember reading the converter box instructions. The converter box has to be on the same channel as the one you are recording. Hope that helps. Now if I could just get mine to play anything at all.

I purchased a Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK and connected it per instructions. I was able to do the Intitial Setup, and program the Remote to recognize the TV, but now I can NOT get the Remote Programed! I follow...

The remote lost connection with DVD set. Push OK and hold while you Push #1. This will reset the remote. Connection instructions with set are wrong! After re-wiring, everything works great! I had to call Panasonic and sit on hold, but they were very nice.

The Panasonics are very picky about the media ie brand and quality of the DVD blank. Try a different brand and see if that helps.
