SOURCE: HDMI Cable

if ur setting up the HDMI cable dont check all the resulusions just check the 1080i coz 1080p is to high for your TV thats why you have that blank screen for 30 sec.

SOURCE: can't watch dvds on playstation 3

No, but you do have to select HDMI output in the settings in the PS3 menu and make sure the TV is switched to the correct HDMI input ( Whatever one you plugged your PS3 into)

Is there a game in the console when you start it up? If so, take the game out then retry it..

If not.. Then you're going to have to have this console repaired. I suggest 2 options.. Contact the https://www.newcorp.com/ for an extended warranty to have it repaired or search online for reflowing XBOX VGA Chip.

SOURCE: Im trying to connect my playstation 3 up via hdmi,

Have you tried using another HDMI device with any success on the same port? It would be good trying something else on your TV just to make sure the TV isn't the problem.

Also, try turning your PS3 off, then, while it is off, hold the power button down for about 5 seconds. The system will beep, and it will reset the video settings. Try your HDMI setting one more time, but this time set it to 720 p to make sure the resolution isn't too high for your television.

If none of this works, you could possibly have a faulty HDMI port on your PS3. I've seen it happen before.

I used a xbox hdmi cord for my ps3 and changed my ps3 settings to be compatible. The I tried to use the av audio cord and it did not show the picture. How do I fix this?

You need to do a video reset to your system. You might have to do this every time you go between HDMI and A/V. Here is a link how. It's really easy. ^^ Good luck. P.S. It's the same for every model of the PS3.

I get a black screen when I turn on my PS3. When I turn it on I do get the normal start up sound but the screen is black. The power cord is plugged in, the HDMI cord works (I switched 3 different cords...

Your PS3 may not be in HD mode. When you turn on your PS3 hold down the button until you hear a series of beeps. This will switch the PS3 to work with your HDMI. Now turn off and turn on the PS3 normally and you should have video.

I may be wring on the steps so check your manual or reference:

My screen wont work i tried a hdmi cable but wouldnt work what do i do?

If you can get a display with the default setup (original cords) follow this procedure:

a) Plug in BOTH the HDMI cord and the other display cords to your TV.

b) On your TV, using the disignated video input (not HDMI) you should have the main screen

c) Go to settings, and then display settings. Set up your display to read HDMI. Your screen will go dark.

d) Quickly change your TV input from video to HDMI and it should still be displayed. Save the changes.

e) Shut off the system, unplug the original cords leaving in just your HDMI cord and your designated audio cord (preferably fiber-optic).

f) Turn it back on and you should be good to go.

My ps3 will not show a display of my tv

it might be the video cord depending on what your using, if you are using a HDMI cord you may want to use the normal AVI cords to set your ps3 for HD and them go back to the HDMI

Hdmi - out of range

If your hdmi cord is good, and you are going from xbox to tv via hdmi , make sure you have your input on input 1. Hdmi ports are usually by default set to work in the first input of any tv or monitor.

make sure you have the cords hooked in right, especially if your using HDMI because ive seen HDMI compatible tv's with atleast 30 ports on the back. it get confusing, but if your using just the normal A/V cords, then you should check the connection between the tv and the xbox.
