Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge, repairs for your particular brand and model involves the replacement of STK393-xxx (110) Convergence IC and possibly a few 5Amp pico fuses.Convergence repairs has been tooled to be rather easy and user capable. Often a repair kit is available which includes the necessary components and a step by step instruction sheet. One suggested source is http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ owned and operated by another member expert of this site, Slinteriors
Pls postback updates. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

First, it is very important that you have some soldering experience working on solid state printed circuit boards, and that you know too much heat from the soldering iron will most likely ruin the PC (printed circuit) board. If this happens, it can be a very difficult repair. The boards are no longer available for some of these sets from Mitsubishi, so I cannot stress enough - if you have no soldering experience, let a pro assist you in this repair.

et’s get together the equipment you will need to work . You will need:

    • A
#2 Phillips screwdriver to first remove the backboard in the rear of
the TV set as described on page 10 of the service manual.

    • A
small soldering iron with a desoldering bulb to remove the solder on
the pins of the IC’s. I recommend an inexpensive one from Radio Shack.
      It is a 45 watt type, .

    • A
small amount of rosin core solder to re-solder back in the new
convergence IC’s. You can get that at Radio Shack also.

    • Heat sink compound or thermal paste.

    • You
also might wish to pick up a small amount of solder braid to assist you
in cleaning up the area around the un-soldered pins of the convergence
IC after you remove it. It is very important to make sure you have no
solder splashes or bits of solder lying around or across any of the
      adjacent circuits.

    • ONE (1) STK393-110 convergence Amp IC. -. Yes,
these IC’s in this Mitsubishi set is made by Sanyo. Many of the less
expensive IC’s are not original and the aftermarket types made in
China. I have heard also that some parts distributors buy factory
reject IC’s and sell them as good original IC’s. That being said, it 's
up to you if you want to be back in your set several months down the
road because of another convergence problem. Play it safe, and stay
      original.

    • A small multimeter or DMM (digital
multimeter) and know how to use it. You can get the five (5) amp pico
      fuses .

Just checking the service manual for my 65311, I would be more suspect of a failed blue CRT or associated circuitry than a convergance problem.

If I remember correctly, you can turn blue off while converging.

Do you have any blue at all?

Well, it does, at least that is what they call them in the service manual.

Hi!

Care must be taken when disassembling the board for removal. Mark connectors when unplugging them. Remove all screws holding board in place. Disconnect thick red wire going from the flyback to the HV block by pushing back the boot and pushing the lead inward and turning simultaneously. This unlatches the connection to the high voltage block. The thin red wire from the flyback to the front loosen from tie downs (not necessary to disconnect/plenty of wire length). Not necessary to unsolder the heat sinks from the ICs. After bad IC removal, line up the leads on the new ICs and use patience to insert into the holes. Once you get an IC leads through, hold IC in place and screw back to the heat sinks before soldering. If convergence does not improve, check for open pico fuses. They look like resistors and have an amperage rating silk screened on the PCB.

Just be carefull when desoldering these stk's use solder wick and patience even a pro can take an hour to desolder these so be carefull not to lift the trace or the situation will quickly get worse. don't adjust these tubes as they are set to the correct alignment already.
    Ask for any clarifications

    Thanks

My Mitsubishi TV Model WT-46809 has the picture turn greenish pink after the TV has been on for a little while. What is the possible cause?

These sets did have one common issue where red, green, or blue would do what you are describing.

The set has 3 picture tubes and each has a small circuit board plugged to the bottom of it (bottom of the tubes faces down) and a ground would break loose or a part do the same.

I would examine the picture (see if you can take one and post it somewhere for me to see---picture will tell me a lot).

The ones with the ground broken usually show it more on the sides then in the middle of the screen.

Let me know all you can.

Assuming all power supplies are OK, you most likely have a bad CRT grid, and that respective (red) tube must be replaced. I'm sorry that it went that way, as this repair is not cheap....accordianman
