Lost remote for d-rw2su recorder cant seem to get it to read or record discs now is there a way i can get it to work without the remote?

Lost remote .cant get the player to read or record discs is there a way I can get it to do that without the remote or will I have to get one? The AT&T u verse one I have programed works great for everything else on it, but it don't have the set up button that gets me into the disc setup menu. Any help would be great. I cant believe they don't have a manual way of doing it.

SOURCE: remote control code

The remote control for your DVR has the capability to control 2 additional DVRs in addition to the one that you currently have. In order for the remote control to work with your DVR, you will need to make certain both of them are talking on the same frequency. If you press the remote control and the front of your unit says DR2, that means that you need to have your remote on DR2 as well so that it can operate the DVR. To set your remote to DR2, you will need to make sure the unit is off then you will need to press and hold down the SETUP button and while you are holding this button down, press the number 2 button. Your remote is now set to DR2.

Good luck...

SOURCE: disc not reading. toshiba dr420 dvd recorder.

Multiple problems with the DVD recorder one of them could be the lasers not reading correctly its software is messed up or there something wrong with this but to me it sounds more like the DVD recorder has a problem I've experienced this problem before not with this particular type of DVD recorder I fix the problem by unplugging the DVD player for about 20 seconds to a minute to give it a good reset.
Quick tip: most high Tech Device problems or unknown errors can be fixed by simple restart or reset hope this helps

SOURCE: HDD Corrupt

I have the XS35 and the HDD drive is curropt. Can I do the following?

1. Download the Toshiba firmware update:
http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/customersupport/model_firmware.asp?model=rd-xs34

2. Burn the ISO to a CD-R disc. ImgBurn is an excellent free burner for this.
http://www.imgburn.com/

3. Insert the CD in your unit. It will auto-install the firmware. Follow onscreen instructions. Takes about 10 minutes total.

After the update, my existing HDD shows are playable again, and I can record and playback from the HDD. I bet it would be a good idea to periodically backup your shows on DVDs, and regularly reformat the HDD.

Hello
According to your description, it seems that the disc tray is not loading into it porperly i thinks. Just do one thing. Without any disc in tray, close the tray either by using remote control or the front panel opn/close button of the system. If the tray closes first, and then reopens again without any command, make sure that the disc tray mechanism does not working properly, and the disc is not loading into it in place.
If this is alright, place a disc in the tray, set close, and push the tray with your finger slightly as it closes, and see whether it loads properly and play the disc. If so, loading belt inside the loading mechanism is worn out, ans should be replaced. In most cases, this may be the fault. Check it.
You can do the repair work, if you have some knoledge in electroncis, and its mechanical function. If not, get it repaired by an experienced service technican. Most of them can do this work, as it is simply a mechanical one. OK.

I have lost my remote on my Panasonic model DMR-E85HEP. How can I finalize a recorded DVD manually?

Sorry, but you can't perform this function without the remote for this model. ('finalise disc' is likely to be part of the DVD management menu - thus the remote is required to access this)

Hi can i record on my pioneer pdr 609 cd without using the remote control,as ive purchased a unit with out one and cant get it to record, thanks

Hi John
You should be able to record without the remote control; make sure you have a blank disc in place, then press the 'RECORD' button on the front; it should go into recording standby mode. When you want to start recording, press the button below the REC BALANCE buttons (the play/pause button, marked with a triangle and a II symbol) and this should get you going.
Try it and get back to me if not.
Hope it works!

How to finalise dvd recording

Press the menu button on your remote - go to finalize disc - follow instructions. Note that VR discs can be played with many if not most DVD-players without finalizing. In fact I have had problems finalizing and unfinalizing discs back and forth. If the disc manager displays only unfinalize disc, the disc is already finalized.

Im actually ona magnzvox zc350ms8

use the set up button on your remote. Which brings you to the set up menu. Go to the very last option which is disc edit. then a new menu will come up and go to finalize disc, then a new menu pops up and just select yes. You have to have your remote to do this.....so make sure you hold on to it!!!!

This is a disc read problem the discs recommended in the manual seem to be the only discs that will work on this machine.
I was getting the same error code everytime but the disc that i know does work is a Verbatim 16X DVD-R.
These discs work in all situations on my machine , dubbing and direct from TV.

Not reading pre-recorded dvd's and ocassionally not re-wrtten dvds

Over recent months my recorder has stopped reading pre-recorded disc's and more requently re-writer disc's. I had thought that the region had some how been altered, but not too sure now. Is there a way of checking? Or is there a problem with the laser block. I have stripped the machine down and thoroughly cleaned (but no dust found) and no loose parts. I have reset to manufacture default but this hasn't helped.

DVD-RW discs I have recorded sometimes say 'disc error' sometimes 'no disc' sometimes start ok but cycles round and round for 5 - 10 mins before stopping, sometimes goes straight into play at last position, won't stop back in menu just goes straight to stndby. Factory reset dosn't help. Wont play pre-recorded discs without going into menu and messing around. It seems to damage or not record RW discs properly a lot of the time. Not even sure if it's resetting to factory settings properly.
