We learned from our new Duet that when washing with Tide soap powder, there is an adjustment inside the pull out drawer where the soap powder goes. You will see a grey plastic slider that goes to the right for liquid soap & to the left for powder soap.
Moving this slider to the left corrected this problem - not using all of the soap powder needed - for us.
Good luck !

Are you getting an error code possible F28 its possible its something in the linkage take the top off and start any wash cycle the dispense motor should move the diverter to the wash cubicle look or listen for any popping noise as if linkage is binding if nothing found I would suspect the motor it has contacts inside that feed back to the control indicating its position if the internal gears are slipping then the motor will rotate till contacts made regardless of diverter position
Possible that the Rinse cycle is not timed to fill in enough with water or there is obstruction within the inlet valve. Also if there is too much soap that is dispensed it can remain back after the wash. check the above and choose a normal program or one which is different from the present cycle.
You'll need to clean the dispenser by removing it. Use white vinegar and spray then spray the dispenser & agitator with it too. Use hot water after a minute and vinegar will wash out the softener. Try using a soft brush to clean it. Try running a cycle with hot water and bleach (use no soap). Avoid using large amount of soap. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
There should not be suds up that high in the washer. You are experiencing a over sudsing condition and spin is throwing up throw the fill line in the dispenser. Run some fabric softener in a load with no clothes to clean out any hidden suds. Then use only HE (High efficiency) detergent and half of what they recommend! The softer the water the less the soap you use. Sounds like you may be using non HE detergent. My guess if the machine is fine.
In applications with low water pressure, insufficient water volume is introduced during the fabric softener dispensing portion of the cycle to flush the dispenser. RESOLUTION: The holes in the dispenser housing were enlarged to allow a greater volume of water to flow through the fabric softener dispenser to properly dispense the fabric softener. Order and replace the dispenser housing, Part #8181719, to correct the condition
POWDERED DETERGENTS GET CLOGGED ALOT IN THOSE DISPENSERS.
I ADVISE CUSTOMERS TO FILL THERE WASHER AND ADD SOAP WHEN IT STARTS TO AGITATE WHEN USING MORE THAN A 1/2 CUP OF POWDER ... THEN ADD YOUR CLOTHES ... THE WASHER HAS A SAFTEY SWITCH WILL STOP MOST WASHERS WHEN AGITATING OR IN SPIN CYCLE,SO YOU CAN LOAD CLOTHES ...
OTHER THAN THAT ... ALL YOU CAN DO IS KEEP THAT DISPENSER FLUSHED OUT WITH HOT WATER AFTER EVERY WASH. JUST POUR HOT WAYER TROUGH IT ...
IF THE WATER BACKS UP (EVEN WITH A SLOW POURING) THE DISPENSER IS PLUGGED AND NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED OUT WITH A HOSE.
GOOD LUCK AND STAY DRY !!!
