A drink as spilled in my car now my radio doesn't come on how much will it cost to be fixed or can I do something on my own?

Hi Jasmine, I'm glad to help!

Jasmine, usually when a drink is spilled and something doesn't work then your first step would be to get a 12 volt test light turn the key on and check all the fuses on the vehicle, under the hood and inside the car. If you find one or more blown replace them with the same amp fuse and see if your radio works. If it still doesn't work then it may have damaged something inside the radio and you'll need to replace it. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Jasmine.

Spilled a drink on it and some of the keys don't work

if u r a professional, open the keyboard..pat dry with a clean n soft cloth..deep clean all the carbon contacts beneath the keys using Iso-Propyl alcohol..put/stick 'Carbon-Dots' (available in cheap level spare market) as n where necessary..try to blow some hot (dry) air or heat less than 100W at a minimum distance of 31.75mm..

do note: that never hold/keep the electronic peripherals into open/direct sunlight..

hope it'll work..
always better to seek professional supervision esp of ur system admin/vendor....

I have a sticky f key on my Travelmate 2310 How do I fix it please.

Hey there runforever,

If you think it may have been caused by a spilled drink or some similar occurance (as happens to me more often than I'd like), I have a way to fix it for you. This works on sticky keys caused by other reasons, its just the drink thing that led me to this solution.

  • Put your keyboard in the freezer. (Yes, I'm serious)
  • While its cooling, go get a can of 'canned air'. They sell it at Radio Shack or other electronics stores for blowing dust out and off of circuit boards and such.
  • Once the keyboard is as cold as its going to get, blast the area around the 'F' key with the canned air. Hold the can upside down for a maximum freezing effect. Work the key and blast it again.
  • What this has done is make whatever is causing the key to stick, freeze and become brittle enough to actually chip off. The air blows it away from the keyboard.
  • Plug it in and try it while its still cold.
  • If it works, there you go
  • If it works, then stops when it warms up, you're on the right track. There is just some more crud left in there. Repeat the freeze/blast thing.
I know it sounds weird, but it works for me. It will for for you.

Spilled Grape Juice

To give it a good cleaning, you will need to remove the keyboard and clean anywhere you can see juice or feel stickiness. You can buy the expensive computer cleaners, but I suggest 50/50 rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. Remove the battery and C-mos battery to make sure there is absolutely no power to the machine what so ever. After cleaning inside, you will want to give it a good 24 hours to dry, ensure that there is no moisture before applying power. If the juice reached the bottom of the machine, you may need to remove the screen, split the cases, and take the motherboard out, in order to clean the bottom side of the board. If you leave juice anywhere on the board it will gum up, and the acids in the juice will corrode and detierate the circuitry on the board causing a motherboard failure. Now the keyboard, in order to thoroughly clean the keyboard, I suggest that you spray a good amount of the rubbing alcohol in the keyboard, shake it or blow it out with air, then take paper towels and daub up the rest. Repeat this two or three times, then let it dry approx 24 hours. Sometimes the keyboard won't recover after a spill and will need replaced. If it works properly, then, after using the keyboard for a while, you will notice if any of the keys are sticking. Take the sticky key or keys off and clean them individually. I know it's alot of work, but it'll teach you not to keep open drinks around your laptop. It did me, I've ruined one machine, two keyboards, and thoroughly cleaned a third very expensive machine of mine to keep it working, but I finally learned to drink from a sippy around my laptops.

Your fuse will be on the main board just after the power cord inlet. Maybe in a small black box that the top opens on.

open it by removing the screws underneath. make it peace-peace. wash the film and carbon sheets with water(use little shampoo, not soap). dry it up completely. Assemble and connect back. see how it works.
